I cringe to think anyone that tarded lives on my planet.

Some = 9, and I'm not even touching on grammar.

So what? I hope he butchers the language some more just to piss you off.

There are a lot of talented people here who can answer your question about making the thruster glow that you are talking about, but most of them are already deep in a mutitude of projects and may not be able to take on any new projects..
But it never hurts to ask..:)

I'm not asking for much. Please, just act like you have a basic grasp of the language and I'll be happy.

All your awful English are belong to us.:wtf::lol:

don't pick on him for bad spelling, it means nothing, especaly seeing as about half the comunity only speack english as a second language (though most of them are better spellers than me)
-
I wouldn't pick on foreigners for bad spelling or grammer. Hell even Free Terran (who has improved a lot recently) never got picked on even though he was mostly unintelligable at the start.
This guy however is from the US! Now while he might just be very young or unable to spell correctly due to dyslexia or somesuch it's more likely that we've got another lazy american who can't be bothered (and I'm not being unfair, the people who spell like this on HLP are always American!)
Anyway while it's fair to have a go at the spelling unless there is a good reason for it that doesn't mean we shouldn't answer the question.
As far as I know there aren't any easily downloadable glow or thruster mods. There was a topic on here a few weeks back by Free Terran involving some new glows though so you could try asking him for them (or how he did them).

You could probably do this yourself by extracting the original thrusterglow ani from the VP file, converting it into a series of jpeg's. Then mess about the jpegs in PSP with all the RGB, brightness, contrast, hue map etc.stuff, then compile them back together into an ani and save.
I wouldn't imagine it would take more than 20 minutes with the right tools. If you're after a whole new artwork for the glows then go ahead and ask. :)

thruster glows are pcx

*Chalks up one more PSP user*
(Yeah, I know there are more than a few, but this one's (relatively) new)
Go PSP :D

Ah, the glows, not the flames. Yeah, thats even simpler. Should take less than 5 minutes if you just want to make it redder.

New? NEW?! I've been about since the VBB... I just chose to take a year-long break from FS...
-
Bleh, so I have a crappy memory :D

[color=66ff00]From what I remember Stargunner has attention deficit disorder, people gave him hassle about spelling when he first came here. He get's the general idea across so lets leave it at that.
BTW KT, show a little damn tolerance.
Sorry stargunner I've never done any work with FS ani files so I can't help you out.

I was a PSP user....FSW is a prime example of some PSP work...however, I'm now a Photoshop convert. That and the fact that educational priced Adobe software is so much cheaper than retail :)
StarGunner, I think you probably can make it for yourself or at least have a really interesting time trying to learn how to do it. I haven't got any time to play with the Shivan thruster glows but grab virtually any paint program and play around with a few settings and you can usually achieve some really cool looking stuff.
There is also a MOD on this page that replaces all of the thruster glows with different ones: http://www.3dap.com/hlp/freespace/mods/misc/
You may like those quite a bit more than FS2 standard.

 If this is a serious question....
It's Paint Shop Pro... you can get an eval version at www.jasc.com
If you choose to buy it tho, be prepped to shell out a bit... Though there's always ways around it...
What? I didn't say anything I shouldn't :p

I thought it was like $80-100 bucks. Thats NOTHING for a piece of imaging software. Photoshop retail is over $1000 typically and academically priced versions are between $350-$450 (all in Cdn dollars :D).

I'm talking about grammar as well.

ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS?!?! Gawd, I thought it was "only" $650-$800. Someone tell me why ANY imaging software would be worth a thousand bucks.
-
$1000 Canadian dude. That's like $450 US. :p
-
That's still a huge amount of money for software.
-
Thus, the evil online black market.
-
Mmmm, that's good piracy

No no no...Canadian dollar is back to 72 cents US the last I checked. You're dollar is falling and ours is going back up...why, because our economy...despite the Mad Cow scare (one cow had it), SARS, West Nile Virus, and so on...is still doing ok :D
Thats probably about $700-800 US (based on the price point that stores will sell down there).
-
meh. I still hang on to the good ol' days. Like last summer, when it was $.48 canadian to a $1 US. :D

[color=66ff00]I remember my friend once handed me a CDR with Maya on it. I stared at him for a minute after he told me what was on the disk and then asked him did he know how much that one CDR was worth...

I'm leaning toward Photoshop: Elements because I saw in one review that it is basically PS without some of the high $$$ features that only mainstream pros use with any frequency. It's available at my local Wal-Mart for like $60-70 usd.
-
Buy used. Buy old. There's nothing on Photoshop 7 that you need unless you're a pro. 5.5 might be the earliest at which you get the really cool features, but it's pretty damn good even before then. And the price drops dramatically with old software.

Photoshop is Industry standard stuff you have to understand, which means professional graphics designers use it. Hence, Adopbe can charge pretty much whatever they want, people will still pay it (These designers are there target audience after all). Plus if they buy it, come tax time it can be written off as a work related purchase.
It's akin to a farmer buying a half million dollar tractor, or a brickie spending a couple of hundred dollars on a new cement mixer.
-
http://www.ulead.com/pi/runme.htm <---Ulead PhotoImpact. It's dirt cheap for imaging software and has most of the features of Photoshop. Okay, so it can't put differently-colored borders around each letter of your text or do layers, but it can do about everything else--even lens flares, if you like torturing yourself and everyone who looks at your images (I hate lens flares).
-
PSP 7 is my Image editor of choice, it's cheaper, easier to learn, runs all of PS's plugins and has 90% of its features. I was just explaining why it's so expensive, not supporting the proggy :)
