Title: Inferno appreciation thread.
Post by: GT-Keravnos on June 16, 2003, 02:35:05 am
Getting us hell(inferno) and early is good. But suddenly Woomeister and friends, may decide, hell, why should I be doing this for a bunch of Geeks, nerds and other no-lifers and why not go out and just sit and watch beautiful women go by???

Well, to help ease some of that I must say that...

Inferno is the biggest, greatest, prettiest way to play Freespace 2 in! I totally appreciate all the hard work you guys put in there, and I must say that once Inferno is released I will use its mods to make a mini-campaign of my own. (a tribute to all those who worked to bring inferno to us!) Getting the terran pack was a really nice gift.

So, and without further ado...

Bring on the cheerleaders :)

"1,2,3,8"...  ' Ferno we appreciate------------->(Inferno as a word was deemed too hard for chearleader AI so was shortened to 'ferno)

One of the most annoying facets of Chapter 1 is having to use all the 'older' ships and weapons due to the timeframe of the plot.

Anyway, we're almost done. There's like one-and-a-half missions left to do now, a little bit more interface work and some rebalancing. Everything should be finalised by early July, by my estimation. The only other major headache now is deciding how to distribute it all! :p

?
Each ship pack will be out by then, they'll only have to download the core files and the missions/tables/low res cb pack.

It shouldn't be too hard to download if they've got the current packs already and get the new ones as we release.

Well, it so happens that I love what the inferno crew are putting together. That doesn't mean (not by a longshot) that all others work remains unappreciated. Far from it.

I just wanted to give the guys finishing it one final jolt, just to take them Over The Top, :)

Since, to me at least, finishing up, may be the hardest part.

That being said, to pick some people and cheer them for all the hard work they have put into their effort, (based on the work they have produced --138 mods??? is that for real--yes it is-- ) is just appreciation of hard work, not favoritism because of the colours of their forum. I think everyone of us in 'ferno can't help but feel a little impressed. I just expressed it.

I have mixed feelings about that sentence :doubt:

It was meant as a good honest to god joke, I wanted to lift off some of the team spirits (namely yours venom), give a feeling of continuity, of the torch being passed along. However I failed miserably, it seems. :nervous:

I see, and understand fully your reasons to relinquish command of OTT to Woo. Believe me, I just got back from the army, and I know first handed what Real life can be like. Besides, it is not like you leave it to a total stranger. You are still on both crews, as far as I can tell.

If I offended in any way, well, I am sorry. That was really, truly NOT my intention. :sigh:
