LightWave 3D 7.5 ( With FREE! Upgrade to Version 8 ) -- Price: $394.95 (http://tinyurl.com/extb)
3ds max 5 with character studio 4 & reactor -- Price: $489.95 (http://tinyurl.com/exte)
That's less than the cost of the next top of the line video card.

What are these "students with cash"? :wtf:
-
what's this "cash" you keep referring to, i haven't seen any, so i don't really know whether it exists or not:rolleyes:
and yes, i'm a student
-
I think "students with cash" is a bit of an oxymoron... :D
But those prices are indeed pretty good compared to the originals. (although still way too overpriced for most of us)
-
Hell, I'm a student with cash. :D Taking two classes per semester gets me full academic discounts. Woohoo! :)
-
urge to strangle rich bastard rising....
-
Wait your turn.
-
*wait's patiently*
geez, methinks the line is growing...
LOOK EVERYBODY, A GOLD BRICK :nervous:
*jumps ahead of the line just behind stryke*
hurry up man, i aint got all day..
-
"Methinks"?
What, are we in Dungeons and Dragons now? Look, all those guys in the Middle Ages used archaic English, and look where it got them! They're all dead! You wanna be like that? Huh? Stick to words we use in our time.
Like "bling-bling".
Er, never mind.
-
SILENCE HEATHEN!!
THOU HAST ANGERED THE ELDER GODS..:nervous:
the 'methinks' thing is a force of habit... dunno why i still do it, i never played D&D, mind you a warhammer PnP i've played at one stage..
-
-
Couldnt use this to make money... could I?
Then its useless.
-
Ahhh, that 3ds max deal looks nice... now to [l]steal[/l] earn 489.95... ;)
-
Four hundred and WHAT?! I'm a student, and yes a number larger than that does appear in my account - BUT ITS GOT A NEGATIVE BESIDE IT! :wtf:
-
I didn't know money could go past two digits.
-
the deal does sound nice and all, but i'd rather get that 'special student discount':drevil:
that, and the $830 graphics tablet beckons..:p
-
"bookmarks link"
thanks Mike, that might be the right time for me, and it's my birthsday in 3 days ;7

Turnsky: The one that involves a brick and the shopfront window?
-
On the topic of old English, I have this math textbook from 1903 that is really, really nice, but has some weird English in it. The strangest things are that the words show and connection are replaced with "shew" and "connexion" so it says things like "We shall now shew the connexion between P(z) and F(a,b,c,z)." :D

That's not student, that's five finger :)

I just thought "student discount" would be more applicable in an alcoholic environment. :)

Wait, why did I open this thread again?

Yes, I work full time for Cisco Systems. At my current hourly rate, I make one full price copy of Lightwave every two weeks, sometimes every week.
I take two classes per semester by way of distance education from my university. Same cost, same coursework, same tests. I just get the classes on CD and drive into the uni to take the tests. In the fall, I'll be taking Discrete Maths on the comp-sci side and Calculus I on the Maths side.
Later when I can afford to take entire semesters off from work, I'll be going heavy duty pure maths and comp sci, with occasional forays into physics.

Excellent choice of subjects there.
-
that's odd, that max is cheaper than lightwave.

Yeah, I like maths. ;) Not to the degree YOU like maths, but its certainly groovy.
I should introduce you to one of my coworkers. Double Masters in abstract maths and quantum physics. He got tired of it all and decided to be a WAN test engineer for Cisco. Crazy guy. Writes raytracers featuring quantum diffraction for fun. Knows why quaternions are cool, but why octonions are cooler. He makes my head hurt.

well yeah, but max come with two quite expensive plugs ;)

I looked at the eligibility form, and decided that after all that wasn't for me :doubt:

a cookie to the one who tells what's wrong in that sentence :p
-
Absolutely nothing...Venom
I was just asking if anyone knows someone who doesn't use a manual with the software (which in this case is Lightwave 3D 7+) and a lot of people don't...and I just wanted to buy it off them, now that doesn't imply in anyway that I haven't or have purchased a copy, for all anyone here knows I just might have it installed on numerous computers and printing out would be a waste of money especially when its over a 1000 pages...
and the cookie part might be...Lightwave 3D 7+ doesn't have manual except a PDF...well thats not exactly what I heard from a source...so :ha:
-
you missed the point :D
it's just that usually, it's the manual which comes with the prog, not the otehr way around ;)
so :ha:
( ok ok I was just playing with words, so what? :p )
-
I am right in assuming that if I want to make money with the program I have to fork out the full $1500 USD? Or could I do the same with this?
-
the former.
