Is there a how to make FS2 ship models for 3D Studio Max users anywhere? I was planing on making a ship model for my mod but don't know how to do subsystems, ship models etc. I have a copy of Model Vew so subsystems should not be a problem.
Any help here would be usefull thanks:yes:

do the individual meshes, maybe uvmap them, convert to cob using 3dexploration, download the latest truespace version (iirc 3.2), use truespace to make the hyerachy, convert to pof using pcs or cob2fs2

Depends on what level of modelling you're at - if you're a rank beginner, then your best bet is to look for some basic max tuts as opposed to FS2 max tuts. These will teach you how to find and use stuff like the creat, move and scale command, as well as probably extrude, possibly bevel and possibly chamfer. After that, you could go for some advanced Max tuts or just experiment for yourself. Alternately, Max will almost certainly have the features and tools mentioned by any basic FS modelling tut for any proggy, they'll just be in a different spot. If you're feelign a\dventurous, you can try to follow one of them and learn along the way
(BTW - if you're looking for some good basic Max tuts, go the GMax ones - they're great.
Subsyatems and pof data and texturing and stuff can be done in later programs (MV, PCS, Lith and PS/PSP respectively).

that reminds me that... I think it was Maeglamor... wanted me to make a tutorial on how to make a ship in max...

There's already a tutorial in 3ds max - 'Modelling a low poly spaceship' or similar. The rest is common sense - make a ship, make the urret, LOD and debris models.
You still need TS, though.

well cool, then
