I searched the forum for information about this bug, but found nothing. If it has already been discussed, sorry.
I've noticed an extremely annoying bug in FS2. The "ignore my target" command - given to all ships or one wing - causes ALL ships, even if I can't command them, to ignore it. To fix it, I have to order all ships to engage that target.
Example 1:
Defending Enif Station. If I order my wingmen to ignore the GTCv Hawkwood, the Colossus doesn't open fire after jumping in! It only does when I order my wingmates to attack the Hawkwood.
Example 2:
The first Stathanas - Colossus battle ("Clash of the Titans"). When I order my wing of Bakha bombers to ignore the Sathanas, the Colossus doesn't open fire! Again, "C -> All -> Attack" fixes the problem.
FreeSpace 2, English, v. 1.2.

does this also hapen in FS_OPEN?
in original FS2, i notice this too.
-
Known bug...since the days of FS1. Its just more noticeable in FS2 because of the beams.
-
So, has it been fixed already? Or it's going to be?
-
*goes to save the universe*

in the case of the sathanas, just kill the two wings of fighters, and press C-3-0
thatway the 'C' keeps attacking, and you get the kill..
-
Of course - I know how to complete this mission :D, but that's not my point.
It's a bug - and IMHO it needs to be fixed. Simple as that.
-
Its not an unintentional bug... Its in the FS1 manuel, and i think in a training ission or someting... But it was for a reason...
-
Well, I wouldn't say that if it wasn't annoying. But it is - particularly if one doesn't know about it.
I don't know if it's damn hard or very simple to fix - but in my opinion it SHOULD be fixed in FSSCP.
-
Absolutely it should be fixed. But the SCP guys are working on a big graphics engine update, and so don't have the time to fix all the huge, glaring problems with FS2. Which is a shame. Still, it'll look pretty, even if ships constantly collide

When I read that last part about "Ships Colliding" I couldn't help myself thinking about Titanic )I also got the model of the EA Titan today), then a nano second l8tr Celion Dion started singing - "Near , Far, where ever you are"...
Stop It, Stop It! (bangs head into keybord until conciousness is lost....)
This momentary rant brought to you by the IDA...
We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread...
:p

it should be a quick fix.
