The GTT Yolanda
First designed during the second Shivan war, the GTT Yolanda was slated to be put into service about a month before the war ended, but technical problems with the craft's expermental engines inhibited this.
As such, the engines underwent a major redesign, as they were supposed to use the very fabric of space to power themselves, so they would never run out of fuel. But, since this produced geometric distortions that eventually tore every test ship apart, scientists used another radical way to propel the ship,
they used dark mattter.
The advantages of this type of fuel were extremely obvious, as there was an infinite amount of it, and it increased a craft's speed up to 100%.
However, there were huge drawbacks, as it was hard to gather using the ships on-board systems, and it was extremely unstable, and looking at it incorrectly would make it explode.
So, in order to solve this problem, scientists implemented gigantic dark matter "scoops" at the front of the ship, and used a magnetic energy field to attract the matter to the nacelles.
As such, the ships speed is nearly that of the Myrmedon, while still retaining the armor of the GTC Poseidon.
It also has four heavy turrets to back up it's armor, just in case...

Ermmm....could someone who has a good connection give me there e-mail address, so I can mail the pic. to them, and they can post it? It's taking too long on my comp...
Thanx!

Poseidons are pretty weak, I'd upgrade the armor rating.

Oh, I forgot to add the model specs and what it does,
It's a transport, and it has 1735 polygons.

Here are the pics, just copy them into your browser window (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

hey nice (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
but really, this shape doesn't need 1700 polys.

I have nothing to fear yet! He has not mastered the art of MS3D! YAY! He migh soon though!
Nice ship few problems etc and some parts look far too round, did you use the standard 12 sided cyclinders? or is that just the shading?
-
Dude, that things far to purdy to be a cargo hauler. Make it a strike bomber, please!
-
I managaed to get it down to 1500 polys, and I'm trying to go lower, but it's hard, considering the engines still need to retain their shape, but with polyreduction, it knda loses it's shape.
-
1500... good... the higher the better! (to a point) Unless you waste em... Like I used to!
-
lol!

If anyone wants the file, I'll try and post it (I think it's pretty HUGE!)
-
It won't be as huge as [pimp]my TC Alpha Demo! which is nearly ready! Expect it soon[pimp]
