Interesting stuff, what's your stance on jargon and the publics lack of understanding of it? (Also of its application in ads and the like)
BTW: I got 100% on the test
-
I got the DVR one wrong because the question is ****ing retarded.
There are two 'right' options but it'll only mark you right for one.
-
Missed DVR. Some of 'em I didn't know and just picked the most likely though. What the hell is a WAP?
-
Wireless Application Protocol.
Cell-phones use it to access the intardnet.
-
Aced it :p
-
w00t, got 'em all right
-
Your Results

You did not correctly define: DVR, Bluetooth

100% oddly enough
-
100%, naturally.
Btw, there is only one correct definition of 'DVR' on the little survey. Remember, they're asking about JARGON, not common misuse.

100% of course :) Seems like we are a technically literate bunch.
Which one was the misuse of DVR? The DVD recorder option?
-
100%, but... feh. That seemed more geared toward a "guy on the street" audience. The way some of the questions were phrased, seemed like whoever wrote the test barely understood some of these terms.

I got 10/11, only missed DVR...
-
100% I guessed on the DVR...

That's exactly who it was geared for. The article said that it was basically a survey of Joe Average to see how well they understood technical jargon. Most people simply don't understand what half those things are.
When I was working for Time Warner, doing cable/broadband installs, you'd be amazed at how many people utterly misunderstood DVR hardware. Most common question: "where do I put the tape?"
