Title: Loading new campaigns
Post by: TeflonBob on January 07, 2002, 01:21:00 pm
I'm a bit of a novice at this but when loading new ships tables into the tables folder for a campaign it simply overwrites whatever ships tbl file is there but does this stop previous mods/campaigns from working? should i move existing tbl files somewhere else?

err, you propably will get problems with the older campaings since the new tables may not have the same ships what the older mods/campaigns had. So I suggest that you move the existing ones to a safe place  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

its always good before installing a new campaign to create a copy of your /data/ folder into a directory outside of the freespace2 one. then when your finished with the campaign, simply restore the backup

Right, cheers  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) i thought you could keep all the campaigns in the game and jump in and out of them at will but i get the gist now.

Well, you can keep all of the campaigns, just not all the associated mods.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
