I was searching for some pictures of a nice, evil, demonic prison for.....'things', so I banged in 'prison', forgot to click the Images radio-button and clicked Search.
And there before my eyes in the results list was a 50mb video file. A file so wonderous and maginificent that I almost wept with joy when I saw it: ThunderCats - The Astral Prison.
Forty, count 'em, FORTY Kilobytes per second. And there's dozens of dozens of different eps.
I had no idea there were ThunderCats episodes on KaZaA.
I'm so happy.
*cries*
*goes to search for SwatKats*

*gives an0n a freaking medal*

It's Thun-Der-Cat-S!
The third greatest kids cartoon EVAR! Behind Mighty Max and SwatKats.
-
swatkats own
-
i remember it vaguely, but that's the limit of it....
-
Swat Kats kicked ass. That fighter had so many kinds of missiles, it was insane. Razor was an engineering god.
-
i remember seeing a few episodes of thundercats, but not the others..
-
Thun-der Cats Are The Great-est! They Enunciate Every SyllaBle! You Can Almost Hear the Capital-Ization!
Mumm-Ra still 0wnz. I never liked the mutants though.
-
well, i enjoyed what i saw, it's just that, around that time, we never got too much american broadcasting...
-
Mum-Ra did own. Liono wasn't too bright, however....
-
old news an0n, I have a few eps..and the prop intro as well...
tis was very cool cartoon
-
I remember Swat Kats. Paled in comparison to Centurions, if I recall. 'Course, nowadays you gotta wonder why guys with an orbital beam cannon would bother use it to suit them up, even in a really cool way, when they could just load it with 12 tons of rock and blast away, but I didn't think things through that much back then.
Also: I'll buy that anything's better than Gnutella. What a piece of ****, it doesn't even turn up for the keywords "Guns and Roses" and when it does it's some little **** out in Swaziland with a 2kps connection who I can't load from.

Birdman is better :p :p
-
demon: Tried that. No dice. And Gnutella isn't at risk of getting shut down particularly.
Yogdastetean: Wow, I really murdered that name. I should look when I'm typing more often. Anyway, don't even joke about that.
-
*does a search for thundercats on MLdonkey and finds lots of hits...... episodes, outtakes, music... hmmmm*
-
ok, :wtf:?
i don't have a clue what all this is about.
-
Okay, you know you shouldn't really be talking about this.
-
Talking about what :nervous:
I found Undergrads! Yay!

What? Aside from Stryke and Demon, everything mentioned has been at least 10 years old and lost to the annuls of time.
-
Banana Man...that was awez

Ten years?

Why not_ I think it's been more or less established that downloading TV episodes is not illegal. It's the PC equivalent of taping them.
-
How old is Danger Mouse, by the way?
Or Duckula.
-
DM is easily over 20 years old seeing as I remember watching it as a kid. Duckula is a little younger but is still fairly old. :)
-
"He flies through the night,
looking for a fright,
but he's back home by daylight,
DUCKULA!"
And why not?
-
SilverHawks!
-
Actually, downloading TV eps is illegal. I know, it sucks, but what can I do. Just try not to be too blatant about it. ;)
-
well is it more illigal than tapeing them?
I'm assuming that tapeing them is tecnicaly illigal

Whats the point of giving VCRs a record function if it's illegal to use it?

not so, a lot of people like to record what they've recorded on a camcorder onto a VHS disk, which is completely legal. also others like to record news bulletins and stuff. there's nothing illegal about that :)
-
Similarly, what's the point in selling blank audio cassettes if it's illegal to pirate music. What's the point in selling CDWriters if it's illegal to copy games?
and so on.

It's not. In the 1980's, some court ruled it is not illegal to record television shows - but it is to distribute them.
Which brings my question:
The new SonicBlue tivo-like thingy has the ability to record programs, and send them over the internet to friends tivo-like thingies. How can they do this?
-
Snipes' right. It's not illegal to record TV shows - you can encode them and keep them if you want, even share with friends, but you can't mass distribute them. And acquiring recorded/encoded shows through mass distributions (such as file sharing programs) is also illegal.
-
I think there ought to be an exception in the case of S:AAB
-
CDs = making back ups of important data, or transfering legal data, i.e. taking your computer homework to school.
-
Well indeed. I knew that, I was merely using it is a rather poor example.
If they don't want you to pirate music/software/videos then they shouldn't make it so easy.
I don't mind that they do, of course.
-
there working on it thank you very much!
