I'll warn you upfront, don't try to open the mission with the filename INFC1A-14 in fred, it'll crash it. Works fine in INFFRED but you don't have that yet.
Don't worry I retested the mission with the normal FS2 exe file and it runs fine, just doesn't open in fred. Probably the mass amounts of events in it :)
-
Maybe it's because of the Gigas. A 20km ship would probably crash FRED.
-
thats not the gigas mission
-
Just for giggles my super star destroyer is 115km long... even made a screenshot somewhere... I forgot what the biggest ship I ever converted raw turned out to be but I think it was around 300km... I always think is's funny to find a model somewhere and when you convert it it turns into the size of a planet (can I get the compact version please?) He he ;)
-
size of something doesn't crash fred.
we have a full scale (i think) earth and it runs fine

Holy crap! How are you supposed to use this in a mission?

"points and laugh"
I have a full scale gazeous giant with a ring :D
width in modelview: 223531376
I suppose that's the biggest thing there is in FS2 right now... ( that said my comet might be way longer, but I can't reade its lengh in modelview :p )

One merely has to use Shift-O, Mr. Wool. And please refrain from calling our staff liars.
As for not being able to open INFC1A-14 in FRED, it's a bit of a shame since it's the best mission in the campaign and I imagine it could be very profitable (for one's FREDing skills) to dissect. No worries though, we'll probably release our modified EXEs soon...
Sid.

lol. Ownt I say, Ownt :)
-
Just a quick question: how many missions in the Release 1 campaign?
-
14
-
another question: how many total missions in all three releases?
-
maybe 45 total GTVA, 15-30 SOC.
-
kewl... lotz of missions

So I suppose Shift-O positions the model so you're not inside it?

*bump*, because I have a question about this for the Port.
Woomeister, are you sure the reason it doesn't work is the sexp limit? Because I can't imagine that the limit would be different for FRED than for FS2.
We have a particularly large mission for the Port that has completely maxed out the retail FRED sexp limit. We want to add another sexp or three, but we can't without exceeding the limits. However, if we can use a specially-built version of FS2_O that'll handle increased sexp limits, while still allowing people to play it on retail FS2, we'll jump on it.

It's the only reason I can think of for that mission not to work with normal fred. It has a massive number of sexps compared to our other missions.
It may not be the number of sexps, but the mission filesize that is the problem...

i had a problem similar to this once with a mission. I added LOADS of SEXPS, and it worked fine, right up until i used a few more to do with a destroyer, then i worked in fred, but FS2 froze when you pressed commit. I had to delete the mission in the end.
