Although I usually stick to Terran Capships I decided to do something different for a change and work on a vasudan ship. Anyway I'm about 80% through but I need some feedback (especially on what to do about the cockpit. I'm really drawing a blank on that).
Anyway here are the pics for you to laugh and jeer at. As always Textures are there just to give the model a bit more of a vasudan feel and are in no way final (or even alpha!)

Try making the pod flat and curved, kind of like a Ulyses

I'd like to see it in faceted untextured mode, to get a better idea of the shape of the thing. You could just as well have given us a silhouette for what we can see of it.

Yep, a Vasudan GUNSHIP.
Love what I see here, do finish it, and don't change anything in it, (except to put in a cockpit)

About the cockpit...
I am thinking German fighter-bombers, aka the FW 189, use two cockpits, one on the rear and one on the front. Then you could always have some guns pop out of the rear... :)

Interesting. Seems FS1-style, somehow. I like it. :nod: Although the model could definitely be optimized in a few places. I'm interested to see how it's textured.

Badly most likely. :rolleyes: I've never textured a fighter and that means I'd have to learn Lith. I might just do a Texture it and keep it deal with someone :)
As for it seeming FS1-like to you that's excellent :) I'm making this ship for MG so it shouldn't have any FS2 era influences :) The model itself is still under construction I posted cause I wanted some feedback for the cockpit :)

Actually, if you could get your hands on TS6, it has something like lith built in. Of course, where you'd get it from is beyond me :rolleyes:

Already got it :D I haven't tried the UV mapper functions on TS but Lith is probably a better bet since there are more tutorials for it.

Cockpit-wise, yeah, a sort of hemispherical thing like the Ulysses or the Myrmidon would work well.
