After experiencing many other game editors, I've come to find that FRED's controls are severely lacking compared to things like TESCS (Morrowind's editor) and UnrealEd (you guessed it, the unreal editor)
It would be nice if the controls were re-mapped to use the following (or used an exernal file to store the definitions of the controls)
from TESCS:
Action: Control:
Zoom in & out wheel on wheel mouse
Pan camera middle click (button3) + mouse drag
Rotate around Object shift + mouse drag
move object on z-axis z + mouse drag
move object on xz-axs mouse drag
move object on y-axis y + mouse drag
move object on x-axis x + mouse drag
if someone would do that, it would make my life a lot easier

FREDing controls are good as they are. We get used to use the +, - for zooming for example, it would take a long time to learn the new bindings.

Thats stupid, just because you are familar with something it dont mean you HAVE to stick with it.... How about we use a 1 button mouse? or keep win98 cos I dont know how to use XP boohoo
anyway...
I would like to be able to map your own (like every good program is doning now) profiles, load and save - give people the option

Do you think there are two FREDers using one comp? I think that might not be useful, but a good idea at any other points.
