When searching for "weapons of mass destruction" in Google, one might find this 404 error (http://www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/). ;)
BTW, smack me if this was already posted here while I was on vacation... :o

ok, France won more than 1 war. Who are you to brag? the USA won, ok, I'll give them the pacific war. WW1 and WW2, european battlegrounds, they'd been alone, they'd been screwed.
The first Gulf war ok.
I look at the last Iraki "War" ( there's been a war? ) as a fiasco. Everything else the USA lost.
Come back and give lessons :rolleyes:.
I wonder why I even waste my time replying to that...

See, after some time, even the slightiest remark on the most stupid topic can piss off someone. call it juvenile if you will, but I'm frankly FED UP with that french bashing thing that has been going on at HLP for the last year. And every time I find something like that, I come closer to the point I'll actually leave this forum coz it just offends me. So go ahead, go on, I tell you I'll reach my limit sooner than you might expect.

i think it's stupid really, because it's not based on fact really, just (once again) media. and if the French are so pathetic, why is it that the majority of American weapons were designed by the French?
And don't forget that even today, while the French may not be able to defeat the USA (OK, they've got no chance in hell, simply because of manpower and technology), they still have one of the most powerful armies in the world

Just thought I had to post that. I got nothing against the French. Good people. Except that whole "fashion" thing, whcih I find to be pretensious and bleh
France ruled most of Europe for a time, and no other country can claim that (ok, not counting Nazi Germany and The Roman Empire) so don't be talkin bout the French army

Not only did France rule most of Europe for a while, but she also had huge overseas colonies, like a huge chunk of Africa, and South America.
But alas, like Britain and Spain's empires all that really remains is the language.

People are assholes. **** happens. How do you think I feel when people bash America? And Why don't I leave? Because I really don't care.
Sure you could leave if you want, but wouldn't it be better just to exercise your right to ignore who's ever views you don't agree with? It works wonders...

wow, I'm on a roll with the Simpsons quotes today. Seriiously though, people enough already with the anti-This-and-that stuff. Really, everyone loves their country, and it pisses everyone off for people to bash it. If you've got something against someone elses country, keep it to yourself unless you have real complaints to bring up.
And Venom, dont worry about the French bashing. I've learned how to ignore the idiots around me, cause you can only imagine how much **** I get about Yugoslavia. Most people who don't like France do it because its the popular thing to do now, what with all the Freedom Fries and stuff. Don't let a few idiots affect your life

The whole French coward thing I just don't get. I mean, yeah, they had the whole Maginot line deal in WW2, but that was more attributable to being ****ing stupid than cowardly. Napoleon took over Europe. French military backing was one of the major reasons the US managed to successfully secede from Britain. They got trounced in Vietnam, but so did everyone else. So... that's most of the engagements of note they were involved in right there. What am I missing?
Also, as a government-hating American I should note that people from a country that can't take on a buncha militia yokels with RPGs even with the most overpowered army in the world, and needs to hide behind cruise missiles and drone planes shouldn't talk. :p

The french coward thing comes from their lack of fighting will in the 2nd WW2. They had better equipment and out numbered the germans. Sure they were sorely out-generaled, but the their troops folded under any pressure.
But then again, as you said, they got Napoleon and that crazy midget has a whole era of warfare to himself.

better equipement? no, we were stupid back there. In Belgium with fought german tanks with horses! We had good planes, but only a handfull ( and they did a lo, mind you ). The general who dealt with the north invasion of France was, basicaly, a traitor ( Pétain, he acted as a hero during WW1, and as a bastard during WW2 ). That said, Hitler was the first surprised when he saw how easily France fell.
Lack of fighting will? tell that to the resistants :doubt:

I won't mention the world wars, because of our allies and the fact that the US didn't want to become affilated in that war until Japan decided to go all Hidyoshi on us.
French Wars:
--Revolution
--Hundred-Years War (HA! Never thought of that one did ya? And against the Brits too)
--Several others (including many Middle Age conflicts)
I don't know why everyone disses the French for being cowards. Sure, they freaked out once during WWII, but the US screwed up 'Nam and a few others too.

remember that the US hasnt' won all the wars it's gone into either. sure it's won lots, but it's lost a few too, the wars people don't like to remember, such as the Korean war, the Vietnam war, you know

Bashing is not limited to the French nor is it solely or primarly Americans doing this bashing. Look, I find stereotypes funny... Maybe I'm a sick individual but I do. French are breadstick eating cowards, mexicans are sombrero wearing drunkards. Irish are just plain drunks...
Canadians are all hockey playing mounties... who drink beer and have pet beavers (No comments from the idiots in the room on that one).
And Americans are gun-toting hicks who chew tobbaco and drive a pickup truck. So you see, we all have to make fun of each other... or it loses the fun of it. I'm German/Irish American...
I drink too much expensive beer and shoot my shotgun off like crazy. Thank you for your time...
