Does one exist?

I know this is  an odd request coming from me, but my CD ROM has **** itself and I really want to play Inferno :).

I seem to remember some of the HotU dowloaders having problems which required a no CD hack to cure. Someone should write a FAQ for them which has links to a solution.

FSO is not an option. It doesn't like me, says I don't have enough RAM. I'm buying more, but the CD ROM drive just bumped that off the top of the priority list, so...

Just click "OK" when FS2_Open gives you the retarded message and let the mission load.

Oh, and if you're using latestrelease.exe or fs2_open_r.exe, download fs2_open_3_5.exe from the FSSCP site.

Well, I would but there's no OK button on my desktop :p.

Anyway, my particular problem's been solved by the very lucky find of an antique but spare DVD drive in my brother's possession, which is now filling the niche quite nicely. Thanks for the help though :D

I have the whole thing, except for a few of the cutscenes. I got it off of Kazaa and the vp files off of the Freespace FTP server. Its approx 1.45GB if anyone is interested.
