Aah, nothing like ripping off the hard brainstorming of others for curing modders block! Anyone want these ideas?

damn, that's a real clone of the Odysseus in Ulysses31 (minus the big eye)

Its not clone of anything. Its the sequel to one of my favorite games, Stars!
More shiplines can be found here (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Ulysses 31? That show ruled. Any kids show based on Greek mythology has to get five stars for effort at least. At this period in TV history you could also have been watching Starfleet, and Battle of the Planets. Both also great shows. Starfleet featured Jim Shaft as the ship's gunner and ships which belched smoke and spiralled off the bottom of the TV screen like winged spitfires when damaged in deep space battles. Both shows featured main characters who were clones of Fat Rick from Pop Idol. All three shows featured hellishly annoying robots.

I like the organic ship lines, but the red shipline is my fav.
-
Yeah Zeronet, looks like a cool game. I was thinking of buying the original for a while, but that would involve credit cards, it appears...
I think I picked the hardest one on that site to do myself... *groan*

Your missing out on a whole load of fun.

I believe, also, that wEvil has done a high detail model of this ship. Look in the gallery on his webpage, at the very bottom.

Indeed! the only bad thing about it is the movable sidebar!
-
One that doesnt work.
EDIT: Or takes an extremely lengthy amount of time to load.

The purple-and-gold ones would make good mods- they're what I'm working with. Dunno which one the red is. I also like the ones, er, look like they're spidery little things surrounded by big blue bubbles?

Blue bubble ones look like amoebas with a rigid spaceframe inserted into the endoplasm to give the whole ship rigidity. Those are my favorite on the site. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

You might want to try modeling this:
i was too lazy to add the guns you can add them whereever you like, the ship's 5 km long so you shouldn't have and probs fitting many in. oh yeah the hanger's in the middle of the "prongs"
i'd like to see someone at least try to make a decent representation of it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
-
one could also try these..

Pics gleaned from the novalogic website.
good game BTW

Impressive, pilot!

I loved Tachyon's ships. The Bora craft really had this trashy feel to them, like they'd been put together out of spare parts. On the other side you had those lovely Corp ships with the clean, graceful lines gorgeous color schemes. *sigh* It would be wonderful to fly one of these in FS2. what? the sketch or the tachyon pics?

You guys ever play "Master of Orion"?
Nothing to do with modeling, I just happen to find it an excessively cool game that seems to resemble "Stars!"

MoO 2 is one of my favourite games. Some of the ships look really nice. Oh, I always wanted to fly a MoO 2 heavy fighter... Well, but you only have this tech animation as reference, and I never managed to make anything look like it should if it was not my design...
-
I've never had the pleasure of playing MoO at all really.

Can you convert this to a Shivan superdestroyer?
That is what I am looking for in WR 2.

Er... I only have #1 so I have no idea what you're referring to, but yeah. Even MoO 1 had some cool concepts...
