Title: Everybody makes a mistake thier first time
Post by: vyper on July 20, 2003, 05:59:31 pm
But this is not as bad as it could have been, my second ever video render in LightWave:

Yeh, I know I'm missing one starfield - I've filed a police report but I actually think I just mis-placed it.

Couple of questions for any LW guys:
(1) How would I make the lights on the Actium (lets call it the Actium for arguments sake) glow as if they were "on"?
(2) why the heck do all LW animations seem to play beyond the end of thier time in Media Player?

:)

Question 0: Use a goddamned link and not some embedded player.

Question 1: Either use a map for the luminosity channel, or put a billion little light sources on the model. Luminosity channel is your best bet. ;)

Question 2: You're doing something wrong. Check your encoding settings.

1.  use the ambient channel? (that's what it is in bryce)
the glowmaps for the SCP work nicely.

2.  yeah, check what you're encoding with and what you're playing it with.
on my dad's computer, the OLD win3.11\Win95 media player said Office Space was five hours long :wtf:

1.) use a luminosity map and either the corona or Bloom plugins to get a nice glowiness for the windows. the window textures might work just try adding them to the luminosity chanel.

2.)  check your key frames and make sure they're stopping where they're supposed to.

Thanks for the answers guys, but er, how do I do the luminosity part? (Treat me like an idiot)
