Could someone please tell me what the point of the 'D' varient weapons is? I mean the weapons like 'Subach HL-D' etc.
Redoing weapons tbl, as it did not work with campains for some reason....
EDIT: oh, and why do some weapons have a @ in front of their name?
eg $Name:@Subach HL-D
-
@ was for weapons in the demo.
The -D suffix means 'dogfight' version - lower power weapons for multiplayer.
Sid.
-
And does it have any effect in the game if I put the @ front of its name, or it is just informing like the ;?
-
so is it safe to remove the @ and dogfight versions from my weapons table?
Asking because with my old table while flying single missions within the mission simulator, I had no problems. But if I tried to fly a campain, none of the primary weapons would be displayed/allowed/reconised.
Imagine trying to play the main campain with only your missiles! :shaking:  :shaking:

You sure you configured the campaign loadouts correctly from FRED's campaign manager? You have to include the initially allowed weapons there too.

Yes, that was one of the first things I checked.
I'll check again if, after this rebuild, it's still messing up.

I was having that problem with FRED's camp editor, too. It began to work suddenly, after I unchecked all weapons/ships, save, and then rechecked the allowed weapons and ships. It began to work for me.
I am certain it is safe to remove the dogfight weapons, but I am not sure if removing the @ is safe.

Well removing the Dogfight weapons is safe, as long as you're not playing a campaign which needs them

I don't believe they work outside of multiplayer anyway.
-
They sorta do, they appear on the HUD but make no difference.
-
In other words they don't work :D
