Post by: Rampage on July 21, 2003, 04:19:50 pm
Anyone here take Advanced Placement (CollegeBoard) exams?  My son got his report in the mail TODAY.  He wants me to p1mp :thepimp: his scores here.

AP Calculus AB - 5
AP Physics B - 5

NOTE:  I'd hate to find out what my students got... :doubt:

Score of:

1 or 2 - It sucks.
3 - Satisfactory
4 - Good
5 - Excellent

My history students usually obtain a score of 2.

We use a 0.1 to 10.0 scale :p

And those history students should get a historic beheading... Disgracing history like that. :p

AB?  Did he have a chance to take BC?  I know it's too late now, but BC got me farther.  Gives you Calc1 and 2 in high school.  Calc2 can be a ***** (I rather enjoyed it though... series!!!) in college.  It's better to take it in High School if the teacher knows what he is doing.

[p1mp] yeah I got a 5 [/p1mp]

I have not gotten my scores for these yet, but it looks like they have started mailing them out, so they should arrive sometime soon.

What's the difference between AB and BC anyway? I took that BC one two years ago and it was missing a lot of stuff that I would have expected on a calculus exam while having too much useless junk. :p

Anyway, the AP selection is ridiculous. I mean, they have multiple exams for each foreign language and no analytic number theory? wtf?

Hey Rampage Jr! Good work!

I took three years of AP English and took the test twice. Got 4s both times. Now I never have to take another English class ever again. ;7

He will next year (senior).  The kid started his adventure in calculus when he was in eighth grade.

I remember AP's...  I think I got like 4 or 5 5's, a 4 and a 3 over three years in high school.  I think it was 3 in Euro History, 4 in US history, 5 on both english tests, Bioloby, Calculus AB, and Psychology.  Don't know quite how though as I always sucked at English and I slept through all of my AP Bio class.  And Psychology was a joke... didn't learn a darn thing the whole semester but I somehow made up enough to get the 5.  Sad thing is, I go to a college that won't accept more than 2 AP credits...

Wish I could have taken Calc BC though... It wasn't like I couldn't have done it, but no one else at my school ever really understood AB.  Oh well, that's the drawbacks of going to a country school.
