how costly is buying the license for fs from interplay.
thq is doing well in the market, they have profited a lot . why dont they spend some money for the license.
did u know that, in 1998 when f came out, the graphics were stunning and to add to it it worked with normal software rendering, it pleased lucasarts who were willing to buy the technology , ahy dont they buy the license...
anyways it hurts not to see an fs3, its hard to keep it to yourself, sometimes we tend to burst out with things like these...

It's well in the deep hundred-thousands/ten-millions. This has been discussed over and over again, and we all get the same answer...

If only I had the money, and a design studio. ahh if I had the money, I could buy V, the rights, and all would be well again. but I don't. All I have is a dream....

well if you were to produce the next FS, Advertise a little more and get rid of that CD copying thing (were you can legaly copy it for other people) because that is probably one of the major reasons its sales hurt, Although it woulkd probably not hurt to change it back to, its ok to copy the cd, thing after a year or two. That way we wont have this (no seqeul ever thing) happening with the FS3.
Not gonaa happen, maybe, but if you always dismiss the possibility then oppurtunity never comes.

I have loads to say, but I'm sure it's all been said already a million times on other "let's try to get a Freespace 3 by getting the license and giving it to V" threads.

The license isn't likely to be worth more than half a million dollars, if even that much because the Freespace series was never a major money-maker. [V] said FS2 barely broke even. I'm not certain about FS1, but I doubt it did much better.
Realistically, the best chance THQ or anyone could obtain the license is if Interplay goes bankrupt. Considering the state of Interplay's finances, that's a very good possibility.
