You remember that fat kid with the lightsaber routine?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3095385.stm
-
Well, those kids were complete assholes, I can imagine how much it must suck for that kid... but yeah, in the abstract funny. Cruelty usually is if it has nothing to do with anyone you've ever met.
-
hahaha :D :D
-
I was wondering who'd be the first to adopt the moral highground. You quite right of course, Styke- what's the word, 'schadenfreude'? But that doesn't stop it being funny.
-
Shut up Stryke, you know you were laughing your ass off :p :D
-
I don't really sympathize with this particular guy though, since he pretty much brought it on himself. I mean, he first records himself doing his star wars act in a public school studio, and then to make things much worse, he leaves the tape there; after doing that what did he expect? :p
-
I was, but at that point I wasn't thinking about how nasty it was to the little Jedi- I kinda figured it'd just gotten shipped out to only his classmates and pretty much nobody else he knows, and would thus merely be "annoying"- instead, turns out everyone around him has seen it and it got really wide distribution, numbering in the millions- that's a real violation of privacy and it's really ****ed up. I've seen pranks on that order happen to kids before, they make life hell for months or years- I would literally murder those punks if I were in that kid's position... though probably not with a golfball retriever.
And besides, I remember when I first started playing around with my machete I was, ah... less than agile. I've got deep scars on my hands to attest to that. It's not like he was a retard or anything, he just looked like it because he didn't know what he was doing- no real fault or trait of his own there. Except being dumb enough to film it.
-
But you know how many girls on his level must be turned on by that? If anything, his friends have only helped him. ;)
-
Yeah, if they're masochists. That kid with a vibrator would probably level the city.
-
i heard about this months ago. i would have thought the lawsuit would be over.

so did I.
-
I got into an accedent with a guy like four years ago, the lawsuit he fied has yet to even come to court, lawsuits are never over.
-
Bah. There's a petition to get him put in ep III. Those friends could end up doing him a favour.
-
where's the video.
i've seen it. but i don't know where to find it
-
You'd think the BBC would have put a link to the video in their report... :nervous:
-
actually, in an interview earlier, he said that he thought it was pretty cool :D
-
Funny and all, but poor kid.
Man that was funny:D :D
-
funniest thing...ever.

You think so?
It may be an even bigger kick in the teeth.

Maybe but what if it actually gets him in? Anyone who is a big enough Star Wars fan to actually improvise a routine like he did and film it would probably soil their pants in excitement if they were allowed to appear in the film itself.
-
Quede story, but I think the 100,000 pounds is too ... much.
-
I'm going to have to point to the irony of saying that a huge font

I don't think anyone would soil their pants at the opportunity to take over Jar Jar's role.

Well said.
I've seen loads of people do stupid things to camera (and done them myself, TBH), but it doesn't mean they want it sent round the whole f***ing world, just so people can go "hur, hur, he looks stoopid!" at them. It started off funny, but it's getting really old, so give the kid his life back. As for a hundred grand being too much, he could have gone a lot higher.
-
You would have to put yourself in his shoes, and think of how you would react to being put on the web, in the news for all to see (everywhere).
Some people would just gaff it off, but because we all react differently to a given situation the responce would have a wide range of responces. And most of us would say it wouldn`t bother us, but to be honest, you can`t really say how you would react untill it happens to you.
My question would be. So how would you react to be in the limelite... To be in the center of something this widespread and not have an adverse reaction.. Think about it..
As for me, i`d not want the attension that he has recieved.. I`m a loner and keep mostly to myself anyway.
(edit) This could also be a means to get rich quick, as he is asking for a substanually large sum of money, and from teenagers, wait this is funny as DG said
-
I think he will be instulted more for taking this into a court of law.:wtf:
-
...most likely it's going to go through.

I think he will be instulted more for taking this into a court of law. :wtf:
...Are you kidding :blah:...I don't think anyone else will insult him after this...believe me...kids (and their grown-ups) don't have really big bank accounts...and I would NOT like to be one of the kids he filed the lawsuit against...the kids parents are probably freaking out on their heads...they probably won't get any alowance for a "longo time" (sorry...pointless "Jar Jar" impression  )
That's my two cents!
I hope to god that this kid wins the lawsuit...which reminds me...He lives in Montreal...only 5+ hours away...hmmmm..."road trip" anyone ;7...j/k I don't drive and my parents won't drive me anyways.

| simply wanted to strengthen my opinion it is too much penalty. It is 30 million forints, from that amount of money, you can be a well-looking big house, and you still have money remained to put the furniture into it.
