Title: Place your bets
Post by: Rictor on July 29, 2003, 06:54:09 pm
Just when you think you've seen it all..

Honestly, what suprises me is not the stupidity of the Pentagon, but rather the audacity. When people are willing to swallow such crap as the Jessica Lynch epic, I'm sure the Pentagon starts wondering just how far they can go

Heard an hour ago.

So... if a plurality of people think that a terrorist attack will happen on a given day, there's gonna be a terrorist attack on that day?

Er, I don't think there's a sentence that can sum up how stupid that is without it using the word "fuck" 30 or 40 times.

It reminds me of that SouthPark episode where Jesus and Satan have a boxing match, then Satan takes a dive and cleans up, since everyone bet against Jesus.

If someone threatens an attack, then bets against it while everyone else bets for it, they win. Maybe the Pentagon is sorry for all the bad stuff they've done to bin Laden and they want to make up for it.

I really like how it includes the assasination of foreign leaders and terrorist attacks abroad, but they're careful not to gamble, so to speak, with American lives.

[stereotypical announcer]

Butterball in first, comming up fast behind is Santos el Halper. Battling for third are Jimmy Rimmy and Stinkbag. And in last place is the feeble little Pentagon, too dumb to even realize whats going on.

And there you have it folks. The underogs have truly won today folks, with CommonSense and Mr.Morals having taken the top spots in the quaifying round. Finishing last overall is the little horse with a lot of fight but not too much brains, yes its Pentagon. The trainer, Mr.Bush had these sad words to say in an interview after the race: "I ain't seen nothing like this since Joe Bob got drunker th'n hell 'n ran for Congress. It's like ma daddy used to say, you can take the boy outta Texas but ya caint take the Texas outta the boy"

Yes, they've pulled the plug (http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/29/politics/29WIRE-PENT.html?ex=1060494220&ei=1&en=52bf6985b786d2f2) but that doesn't nulify the stupidity that brought this thing so far in the first place.

And for those who live in the US, this little stunt cost 600,000 of your taxdollars. You must have alot of money if you have enough to throw away on such marvelously idiotic schemes.
