Title: Lego randomness

The 35-ton Shroom Walker is intended to be the first line of defense for the Mushroom Kingdom, and has been designed with Koopa shock troops in mind. Armed with an ER small pulse laser and an SRM-4 package, the Shroom Walker can take out all but the most well-defended Koopa Troopa formations within minutes. Its limited maneuvering capabilities, however, render it vulnerable to Koopa Paratroopa assaults.

Isn't that supposed to be a red cap with white dots?

oh, and your Lego priveleges have been revoked.  If you're going to make a mech (even in jest) do a little more work on the legs and joints. Don't make me pull out my Lego Behemoth model.

you don't understand the point of this mech. if you eat it, you will become bigger, and therefore have the ability to combat other mechs yourself.

Hmm... Stating the plainly obvious, but not saying anything really stupid... That one only earns half of a "You're an imbecile". Please place your thumb over the top half of the characters in the aforementioned phrase and read the post as normal.

I think an0n's is the more relavant question..
We all know Stryke can be mature when he wants to be (rarely, if ever, but we know it is within his ability).
As for the mech.... yes... lay off the other shrooms for a while and try again :p

It's a need that rarely arises here.

Anyway. The mushroom needs to be three-dimensional. That would just kick ass.

You people and your demands!

/strongbad

Anyway, I did go ahead with two different upgrades. One left it with more advanced legs and a white-on-red cap, as seen in the games, and a small transparent canopy for a "cockpit". Oh, and if you really feel the need, you can call the weapons "fire flower flame projectors" and "kooopa shell launchers" if SRM and ER laser just aren't Mario enough.

Next up is a 3-D mushroom, which I think looks rather crappy because I don't have enough pieces for the sloped areas of the top cap to look right. Oh well.

after years of constant fighting the mushroom kingdom's military comander (Mario) set about a project to defend the kingdom from the relenless atacks of the Koopa troopas, the MMMS1-a475 (also knowen as the M3) assalt mech was the result, the standard amament (in the pitcure showen) mounts a pair of 145mm gatling fireball cannons each capable of a sustained fire rate of 780 rounds per minute and peak fire rate of 2450 though that rait can only be sustained for roughly three seconds, also available are S.H.A.R.K. cannons, the B.A.S.H. system that can use the troopa's own armored shells against them, and can also be given a large hydrolic claw for hand to hand combat. the M3 runs on a MKI 4700 serese power star energy system capable of generating roughlt 56000 MKEUs of power that give the M3 the strength to crush the forces of koopa under foot with little effort. early battle feiid depoyment shows that it is more than a match for the existing forces, but it is feared that the Koopa forces may utalise there current air sepremicy to exploit it's weaker top armor. development is continueing on improving the design with auxiliery weapons systems to wich the M3's modular construction makes posable

I swear, that textbook on top there looks familiar... Organic Chemistry?  Not that I'll ever have to take that class but it's a nightmare from what I understand.  As for the models, random, but pretty neat.

ya, the invulnerability 'power stars', I beleve is what they were called

I was toying with the idea of makeing a short animation with a few Koopa Troopas harasing some inocent mushroom people and then haveing the now cliche' Jarasic park type sceen with some pool of water then them hearing the mechanisms of the mech wirring, and then they see the thing and start screaming and crying and holding each other and pissing them selves before they all get waisted (all with athentic mario midis in the first half then some paradys (probly groupe X) then some sort of heavy metal thing) this would however be a monumental amount of work so I probly won't do it

Makes me feel old actually. McMurry was only in the 3rd Edition when I did my degree :D

Organic chem isn't that bad at that level. All you really need is a good memory so you can remember 50-60 different standard reactions and mechanisms. Physical chemistry is the real nightmare :D

Bobboau, those are just...you've outdone yourself. Wow.

I've just added an openable cockpit with a Mario-like figure inside; pictures will be up in a bit. When I get back to a real computer (ie over 166 MHz) I'm thinking of photoshopping it into some random scene. If I were any good at stop-motion animation, I'd....er, halt that line of thought.

Anyone feel like trying to do a Koopa Kounterpart to this? I don't have any green pieces to work with.
