Title: Problems with Norton
Post by: Joey_21 on August 01, 2003, 05:53:59 pm

Right now I'm going through a mess with my main computer. Normally it would be just fine but I just had to go and install Norton Antivirus 2003 Pro. It messed everything up. I can not open a single thing. I'm running Windows XP on it. Whenever I get to the desktop it says "cannot find rundll32.exe" and whenever I click on an application it'll say something like "Windows can not find the selected file" blah blah. I tried system restore but it didn't accomplish anything. I also tried booting up in safe mode and renaming the Norton directories to something else but that didn't help either. There is something terribly wrong here!

Can any one help? I would appreciate all I can get...

The rundll thing is pretty normal and if it doesn't lock up your computer it's not a problem. As for the other deal- your shortcuts are probably off for some reason. Path them back to the program they belong to.

The thing is, I'm not clicking on any shortcut... this is when I click on the actual executable...

Ouch. It do that with everything? If so, then Windows is probably ****ed, and you'll have to reinstall. I don't know much about XP, but that's pretty thorough screwing.
