Title: Why is Mission 2 so Hard?

This is frustrating. I just can't go up against a space station that has dozens of lasers firing at me, knocking my bomber back a thousand meters, and draining my engines. My squadmates don't stand a chance against the thing either. The disruptors only do one damage per hit against the subsystems, and my cyclops only do 10. How am I supposed to beat this?

I don't see a difficulty option in options, I looked. Still, turning the difficulty down doesn't stop the 8 million engine draining lasers of doom and make my weapons more powerful.

Uh, actually it does.

More to the point, difficulty is on the first options screen, top mid-top right IIRC.

Heh if you think m2 is hard, wait till the later missions :D

The rapid laser is dodgable, even in a bomber, you should only have a few turrets tracking you with it, and those turrets can be taken out if needed be. The AI had no problems when I play through it, they get to the station and attack the subsystems well.


Well at least the Arcas is a lot tougher than the Arcadia was :D

IIRC you've got some Stilettos in that mission. You can always go off mission and target some turrets before hitting your objective. May even help keep your wingmen alive longer to help you out.

The POS Independence keeps dying on me, its hull is like paper-thin...  I can't blow up the systems either...

Quick guide:

Put all power to engines and head for the attacking turrets, once in firing range put all power to weapons and use the disruptor to disable the turrets, by the time you've done that, the ai wingmen should be attacking the sensor system, let them do that while you take the weapons out, once the transport arrives order the ai to guard it and go attack the claymores when they arrive, you need to be able to take out 2 per wave before they reach the transport otherwise it may not survive.

As for the Independence, there's the target my target's attacker key, think it's G. Might help. Might not.

meh, m2 was easy :)

Just make a rush for its weapon system, then take out the sensors.
