Too bad:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/galaxyandromeda/news_6073153.html
Not that I care much ( never had the opportunity to play either of them ), but I guess that might interest some people.

lol, two things:
1) It was changed to Galaxy Andromeda, as said in your link. Which means it had NO relation to IG3. Which means there's still hope for IG3 ;)
2) Hoo, boy, who didn't see THAT coming? I mean, after being delayed a whole ton, being postponed, no visible progress on it, everyone thought it had been canceled MONTHS before this official release.

I don't care, I just shared the info. do what you want with it.

So this is spam hidden behind an almost useful post?

I'm not gonna type it all again, so heres my comment from Bluesnews:
Ok, I didn't mean millions. However, there is a whole lot of people that are fans of the Imperium Galactica series, and would gladly buy the third installment, even if it was named differently. Aside from that, the game seems to stand very well on its own, with amazing graphics and *I would venture to guess* at the very least decent, if not excellent, gameplay. I don't think that this game is/was obscure or unknown at all. I think that people just get confused with the title change, but otherwise I would say that it was an eagerly anticipated title.
If some budgetware game like US Navy Seals: Weapons of Mass Destruction can be published, I fail to see why a AA game like this would be considered unprofitable...
If they had a demo out many months ago, with the engine and basic gameplay mechanics already in, as well as little or no bugs, then how much longer could development take? A few months? I just don't see the logic, since once released, it would almost surely turn a profit

dammit..
if i didnt like sudden strike so much i would be even more pissed off.

i have the beta lurking on CD somewhere... doesn't run too great on my current hardware though.. :p
oddly enough.. it runs TOO well... my hardware's too fast for the game:p

Eh, from the concept art it didn't look bad, but... eh. Homeworld 2's cooler looking, and I've played HW so I know the sieries is good to boot.
