Title: joystick miscalibration
Post by: Ashrak on August 11, 2003, 01:18:41 pm
currently i have a trust predator qz501 joy and windows drivers to run it (no other are realeased).

Problem:

The windows joystick configuration tool miscalibrates the joy so it's centerpoint is not in the center which creates a drag this could be fixed by makeing a deadzone larger but so far i have not found a deadzone slider in the microsoft driver menu

Problem 2:

The joystick miscalibrates so that moveing it to one side the X goes normaly to edge but moveing it to other side the X jumps immidiately from center to side i have no idea how to fix this...

Please present some solutions no mater how insane (but im not gonna buy a new joystick)

Thanx infront

Sounds like the hell I had trying to fix the r(X) calibration on my old Wingman Extreme. Never could fix it, bought a wireless Logitech Freedom to replace it.

Is that USB joystick or gameport joystick?
If I recall correctly, there shouldn't be any reason to calibrate joysticks if it is plugged to USB. At least my Sidewinder Precision Pro USB calibrates itself when it's plugged, hell I don't even remember what game controllers settings looks like...

There's always the possibility that your joystick is faulty.
