Post by: Hippo on August 11, 2003, 09:29:03 pm
My friend is going to give me his old computer, if i can modify

THIS (http://www.sectorgame.com/ahtw/images/giraffewalk_ani_2.gif)
so it has;

You need to give it a fin on its sides, a whale's tale, and if you can, a fin on its head

Anyone willing to help?

and yes, i am dead serious

Seems easy enough to do.

Unfortunately, I'm not in a helpful mood.

Make sure you examine the computer once you get it, to locate any unusual biological virus's that cause a being to become insane and unrational. Your friend is one WEIRD dude :p

That giraffe looks seriously ill - NO animal should walk like that. What did he do to it??

PS can't help - sorry.

It'd be easy so long as he didn't want the animation, just a still frame.
And anyway, it's walking like a bloody pidgeon - can't he just use that as its alternative animal?
(this wouldn't have anything to do with that "Incredible Creatures" game, or whatever it is, would it?)

So, you're to add these various animal attributes to a model of the Giraffe, or to the single image?

Either could be hillarious with the right sense of humour.

now he wants the fins blue... can someone tell me if Ifranview and paint would be enough to do this, and then explain how? i know i can extract all the frames, but then how do i make it a gif again once i have added the fins?

Irfan has a (****ty) compressor, you can just save as GIF. Paint will do if you're good, Photoshop if you're slightly less good.

Paint Shop pro has a gif builder in it somewhere... I think it's actually the other proggy that comes with it that does it though.

There's a nice freeware program called Unfreez that makes animated gifs, and it has a really basic drag 'n drop interface. I have it hosted here (http://www.duke.edu/~yt10/unfreez.exe) .
