Why is the interface on FS2_Open so SLOW??? The game runs just as fast in D3D8 as it did in the normal FS2 (crashes more though). So why should the interface be much slower? Makes choosing ships more difficult.
My specs:
PIII 667MHz
Windows 98
192MB RAM (176 MB available, 16MB goes to video)
Shared Onboard video

Hmm, I think I have had the same problem in TBP (The Babylon Project) interface. I'll have to check it again, but the slowdown seems considerable.

DX8 doesnt like the way its writen.

I've had trouble with the 2d interface for the game being painfully slow since the game originally came out, even while the 3d portion of the game was screaming. The slowness came about the time I went from a V550 to a V770 (TNT1 to TNT2) and its been there ever since, in every single version of the exe.
