Title: Ship copies with #
Post by: TopAce on August 12, 2003, 10:32:32 am
I want to make a subtype for one of the fighters(the Perseus), and I really would like to know to make the Perseus#slow placable in FRED, and visible in the game. Before you tell me to make another table entry without #, I would say no, because it appears in the tech database and that reveals much secrets. :)

Could remove the 'in tech room' whatever flag, and it won't be...

The tech room DOES work, as my table editing in Inferno has proved. Make a new pilot on the startup screen, if you do it in the barracks screen it'll copy the current pilot's options and techroom data and thus doesn't work.

Sid.

Why don't you people help this poor lad? *takes TopAce by the hand gently* Make the mission with the normal Perseus. Then open the .FS2 file in NotePad and replace the Perseus fighter references with Perseus#Slow fighters. It's a simple job. The only problem is that you'll have to re-edit every time you resave the mission in FRED.

You haven't answered the question I have asked.
Thank you, GE, I have tried it already, I only thought there is a simplier solution, but you have convienced me that there isn't.
Another advice what to implement is FS_open.
