The GTF Xenoexterminator. Its virtually done, however i cannot texture very well and would like to know whether someone could help me texture this model. Also any opinions/suggestions on the actual model are welcome.
-
GTF alien-killer?
-
that would be a perfect name for a war40k imperium ship (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
its a little blocky... but otherwise good, the guns need to come to a little bit more of a point IMO

How do you mean, a bit more of a point?. im unsure what you mean.
EDIT: I made a galting gun variant, i hope its possible to make those rings move around but the model is 833 poly, if thats too much i could always make the tubes less detailed.

Increase the detail on the cockpit a lot, and just use boxes for the guns (rotate 45 degrees - same as on the Herc, etc)
-
I dont know how to increase the detail of the cockpit and unless i use booleans i aint gonna get rid of it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
-
Well im going to be pushing 750 polys but here is the refined cockpit, which is very detailed(model wise).

heh, looks like someone stepped on the spider tug...

I knew my ship looked like something i had seen before, just couldnt quite pinpoint it.
-
The name is a bit weird but otherwise it is not bad at all. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Hey, I like that a lot! I actually like the first one the most... Very nice work, dude! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

GTF Spider now. I,ve added the guns and started to try and texture the fighter.
-
getting better but I like my cornors like I like my guns, rounded! (I like cylinders for guns thnak you...) (i also like some cornors, esspecialy around the engine to be 'cut' ya know???)

Thanks for the suggestion but i prefer it the way it is.
-
pic of the back?
-
I actually might need to finish the back. The model is 720 polys and the back is just flat.
-
Here's a cool app to texture your model with:
http://lithunwrap.tripod.com/ ("http://lithunwrap.tripod.com")
It works great with boxy objects. A couple planar maps, and
you'll be done.

Nice...but a little flat (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
Don't get me wrong, it looks sort of like an Erinyes(sp?) MK II, though (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Alright I'll say it then. It looks awful. Delete it and start again. You'll do better next time.
