Modelview shot of a new Shivan fighter I made this afternoon. Unlike the Kahlan and Durja this one isn't a V concept pic model.
This will be an Inferno exclusive ship, and will be featured in either ch2 or 3.

Yep, Basilisk on steroids.:D I'd definantly make it either a space superiority, or a heavy fighter.

Well this is the first I've made, and it's an original design this time :D
I can do more than one ship in an afternoon if I really want to :p
My top amount for conversions in a day is 6, and models from scratch is 2 I think :D

All the Shivan models I've completed from start to finnish.

I did nothing to the Nephilim, that one is an entirely new mesh.

Hmm... Nice! Attempted Suicides has about 20 Shivan strike crafts (including :V: ones) in use! ;7

I have 10 fighters and 9 bombers, and I can still add more V craft.

I only remember a one or two you've done.

I think you should take the Manticore, up its shields and hitpoints, and put gun mounts where the missile points used to be and missile banks where the gun mounts used to be. Use Shivan Ultra Lasers or Reapers as the guns.

You can to that with a tbl edit, and about 2 minutes in ModelView. 'Tis easy!

I think the Chelob is better than that model. I put two extra gun mounts on and positioned them at the openings in the arms, then made it an advanced Shivan fighter for T&T. In the Chelob, you actually have half a chance against the ********.

Well it's 460 polys, which is about 10 less than the fighter at the start of this thread.

:wtf: The Chelob is a boolean of the manticore and basilisk models. It looks bad, has a lot of clipping, and is quite unstable.
The Chelob was a 5 min job, it needs severe poly reduction and stabilisation, not to mention lods, debris and a shield mesh.

**** poly reduction. These are elite fighters, and you won't be seeing very many of them. Unless you're talking about getting rid of some of those spikes, which is a good idea. Don't touch the main hull though.

OK wollie, there is a thing called "edit post"... as for your previous 2 posts, poly reduction doesn't necessarily mean loss of detail, especially if there is only a high polycount because of an uncleaned union operation without delete edges. Or worse, a MAX union... those things are just nasty. It's generally a good idea to have as few polygons as you need, no matter how rare the ship. More can be added for detail, but if they add nothing then I fail to see what can be gained by keeping redundant polygons.

Maybe I need to check the structure of the model in detail. Modelview said it was 795 polys, and it doesn't look like 795 polys. It looks more like 500. There's probably polys you can't see from any angle.

Most of those polys are in the union part. It's unstable as I was able to put my fighters nose inside the original version :D

About my Shivan fighters, I have about three of them in stage one (mesh production) and two in stage three (LODs, debris, etc.)
I can donate the SF Incubus once it's done. Talk to me over PM about the other one. :D (Some people are just too narolminded...)
NOTE: If you don't like the Manticore, I'll take it off your hands... ;)
