does anybody have it? i'd like to use it as a custom color palette in photoshop so i can make my textures look better.
-
just make all your ships red, green, and blue, cant go wrong with RGB
-
What about pink? Or disco? Aren't they just plain old 256 colors anyhow? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/nervous.gif)
-
any palette will do, as soon as it's a 256 colour palette. So you can have maps with dfifferent palettes on the same ship, effectively increasing the 256 colour limit.
-
In fact, I usually create my .pcx files for FS2 in 24-bit RGB, and then convert them back to 8-bit palletted using an optimised pallete once they are done. Can rarely tell the difference.
Of course, I use Corel PhotoPaint, but I'm sure something similar would exist in Photoshop for converting to 8-bit.
-
I thought I was the only one who used corel photo paint.
I use the same 24 bit to 8 bit conversion.

Seriously, I can't use PSP to save my life. Even tho I think the interface on Photoshop is crap, at least I can work my way around in it. *heh*

I personally find Photoshop's interface quite annoying compared to that of PSP. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the two in terms of functionality is that Photoshop has a lot more filters and image effects, so I use PSP for most of my stuff. (I only have Photoshop installed for the filters)

Ah yes, the king of graphics programs. PSP owns everything except for this, and this owns everything period. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
