Greetings people!
I had this idea to find out what my nickname means.
So I got out a dictionary and came up with this!
Corhellion: "Core-Hellion"-The Most Important Trouble Maker.
So here's your challenge should you accept it.
Tell us what your Nickname means!
Cor
-
Carl: "man"
-
Turnsky came about as a bastardisation of my own name...
i had my head shaved once, and people noted i kinda looked like a russian spy:D anyway.. the name "Lukavich Turnerofsky" was eventually abbrieviated to "Turnsky"
-
my nick name means Holy emperor;)
-
Ugh, not this again. You still going to be butt-faced about the whole name thing Sandy? :p
-
I believe mine is rather obvious :D (at least one meaning is)
1) Often references suicide action or a suicidal thing.
2) The "real" meaning behind the word was brought about by an invasion force sent to Japan. In the 13th century Mongolians invaded Fukuoka, which made people in Fukuoka fortify their cities for ensuing attacks. However, it turned out that the invasion force (on boat) was utterly screwed over by a storm which was thought to be Kamikaze, divinely wind. Kami means god, while kaze means wind.

Uh.... I was registering at the VBB, and I had to choose a name, so I chose randomly :p
-
Ashrak = Ash'rak assassin of the highest rank hiered to do killingjobs for the goa'uld Stargete SG-1.
-
Cannikin: Code name of underground test of Spartan Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) system warhead.
Yield: ~5 megatons
Date: November 6th, 1971
Location: Amchitka, Alaska
Was the most powerful underground nuclear test ever conducted. Created a seismic shockwave measuring 6.8 on Richter Scale. Indirectly responsible for creating the Greenpeace organization by rallying lots of protestors against the test .
-
Well, being the unimaginative sod that I am, I was Admiral_Petrarch on the VBB, so when I came here it seemed the obvious choice.
When the old place closed down a couple of months later, I'm glad I did choose the name, as I'm keeping its memory alive.
-
Those of you who play Battlefleet Gothic will understand both the name and the title! :D
For those who don't, the Killfrenzy is a Chaos Slaughter class Cruiser. She has a peculiar habit of broadcasting a single message - "KILLFRENZY! KILLFRENZY! KILLFRENZY!...." - across all communications channels. The ship's captain, believed to still be Abraham Thurst, seems to have no regard for the safety of his ship and still fights on manically in many battles despite suffering crippling damage.
I play as Chaos, and I love the name, so when I joined the FS Community back in.......god knows........I decided I'd use that name and have ever since!
:)
-
My name was self created - it doesn't exist anywhere outside where I've been.

Same here. The name was originally created for a Godess of the Undead in an AD&D game I used to GM. When I was registering online one day I needed a unique username and all the male gods I'd come up with had even weirder names so I picked this one and it's kind of stuck :)
When I registered on the VBB it seemed logical to stick with the same name and the same when I came over here.
It does have some nice side effects though especially when it comes to vanity searches on Google :)

My nick comes from THE greatest scifi comedy ever, Star Wreck. My brother's nick is Lt. Minestomper, so its quite a lot of fun to play together in net.
-
I originally wanted to be simply 'Ace', but that one had been seized already. So I registered as TopAce. I also wanted to register at Nodewars as Ace as well(at the beginning of my career at ITHOV), but that was seized as well. The name 'Ace' is seized everywhere, otherwise, so TopAce is my ideal choice.
The name came from X-wing vs. TIE fighter. I could reach the 4th Order Top Ace level in Single player, which is in theory impossible, and I am honourful that I could do it.
-
random choice for me.
-
Mine's an acronym for "**** off you donkey-loving homo".
Now you see why I constantly fail English.
-
mine just popped into my mind several years ago

I am a wet horse...

Well, since I'm no longer known as 'Snipes' (and you all know where that came from) and am now "Raa Tor'h"
It was a combination of 2 artists I enjoyed; 'Arakaraath', and 'Kaa'...
The Tor'h part is just an annoying surname that my RP char has. I usually drop it and only use 'Raa'
-
i needed a name for starcraft about 5 years ago. i just got the internet at the time and never realized that it was already used in some jargon

You didn't know what a phreak[er] was?
Have you never heard of Cap'n Crunch?
-
1. My parents intended to name me 'Miguel' instead of 'Luis'.
2. I've always been partial to the old biblical names, particularly that angels. Michael appeals to me especially.
So my online name is almost always a variant of 'Michael'. Thus, Mikhael.
-
I just pulled my nick out of my ass.
-
Been eating a lot of sheep lately?
-
My first online names were coolman, coolteen, and coolboy with a string of numbers after them. Shortly after I bought HardWar (thanks HW I became a modder) I became known as JackA**. But I then started to think, "I think I should change my nick." So I started thinking of names, I remembered the 'cool' names and started to think snow, so I thought, "What's an opposite of snow? HOT!" And HotSnow was born, Later I decided to take the w off for coolness and add a J for my name Josh.
-
I only have two buttons on my keyboard.
-
LOL
My name is Military Terminology for the outcome of a combat. It's notably used in B5 just before Sheridan frees Earth, one of the commanders says to Sheridan 'See you on the Flipside'.
Flipside :D
-
i guess mine is easy to find for a meaning so my meaning is a wolf made out of silver
-
My nick started back in the days when I played Command and Conquer and Starcraft. It was Strategic Commander for a while, but that was cumbersome and got really annoying when Microsoft made that stupid mouse with the same name. I actually first shortened it to StratComm (then StratCom) when I ran in to a username length restriction, and I just sort of kept it. I also always liked the response from the Goliath in Starcraft ("Roger TacComm") so my abbriviation/nick is an adaption of that.
-

It also makes it simple to see which forums you post at through google.
As for my name, i just pieced it together because i thought it sounded good, no real meaning behind it.

Heh... for some reason, I always thought there was a sexual innuendo behind your name... Don't ask why... :nervous:
-
*Can't help but chuckle
-
My name essentially came from randomly monkey pounding the keyboard several years ago when I was trying to register for WWOnline and was finding that any normal words I tried were already taken.

My nick was created originally for the VBB. Freespace/Wing Commander/TIE Fighter/etc are all direct descendents of Star Raiders, a game on the old 8-bit Atari computers. The bad guys in that game were called Zylons. I killed a lot of those guys back in the day, hence I am the bane of all Zylons. :thepimp:
That it abbreviates to the snazzy "ZB" was an unplanned bonus.

It came with this gamepad thing, that I converted to work with Oric 1 :)

I just used a random name generator when I decided I was too Catholic for Hades.:D
-
Aldo & 14 are the name & no I have on the back of my footie shirts. Aldo was my brothers idea (dunno why), 14 because I used to play in several positions (so I wanted a non-specific number).

When my son was back in eighth grade, he used to watch a kids sci-fi show with him called BeastWars. He seemed interested in it (for an eighth grader) and I started to watch it with him (feeling nostalgic for BattleStar Galactica). Rampage (looked like a bad combination of a jellyfish and a crab) was one of the antagonists in that show. Also, I had some memory related problems with my computer. So, why not...
-
I beleive I have your Toy :D

I loved that show. Shame they took it off air here.
-
Shadow is the Dog's name, he is half wolf. IH is Iron Horde, the mech 3 team i started
-
Would that beast wars be transformers? If so, I used to watch it too. :p
-
No, Beastwars was like a rip of transformers IIRC. used to watch it when I was like 9.:D
-
Yeah, it was a spin-off/new series of sorts. all CGI, kick ass story and fights.
EDIT: Not a rip. It was an addition to the series...

how do you know his nationality? do you stalk him or something? :nervous: :blah:
naaa
-
err.. he's only mentioned it a half dozen times since I can remember....
-
hmmm, i remember him mentioning he was American, but not being Puerto Rican.
and if he's mentioned his nationality "a half dozen times since I can remember" then how can you not be sure he's Puerto Rican!? Mentioning it half a dozen times is quite a bit. i don't see how you could be unsure.
...pwned :D :D

Isn't Beast Wars the show that gave a bunch of Japanese kids seizures a few years back?

No.

Well one of those transformers/killer robot shows gave them seizures.
-
Well I don't know if Beast Wars was one of the major seizure shows, but the main one was pokemon IIRC.

*bad oriental accent*Japanie children eye are inferior! American eye not cause seizure!*/Bad Oriental Accent*

That seems like an unlikely seizure inducer. Cute little critters don't tend to have lots of flashing lights.

Have you ever watched Pokemon? :wtf:

You kidding? That show would give anybody a seizure if you watched it for too long...It's like staring into a blinking strobe light for a few hours...
EDIT: KT, ok, I thought it was a rip, but I was too young to care if it was or not.:D Oh well...

The "seizure clip" was in fact from the very first episode of Pokemon.

Anyways, I picked Black Ace because the black part threw in an element of mystery in the "Ace" name. And everyone knows what ace means, so... doesnt really need explaining...
--Ace
EDIT: Er... **BA** :p
-
Just delete Ace. He stopped contributing long ago :p

Freespacer01 = A Idiot who can't think of a orinigal nick for himself so he ripped the nick from the best Space-Sim Game and in the game he was Alpha 1 so he added 01 to Freespace, and Freespacer means player of Freespace!

Guy from the XMen, or more specifically X-Force. I saw him in the Age of Apocolpyse timeline, and he was one of Apocolypse's top lieutants, plus he looked cool, so there you go.

I have always hated Pokemon, Digimon, and all those other Japanese "critter combat" fads.

Also my nick stands for parrots. Yes i am white but thats not what it means. I remember watching polly (movie about a talking parot) and Also the saying "polly wana cracker?" so it became Kracker.
My other nick i commonly use is Bubsy which is the name of an old sega genisis game about a cat named bubsy who seeks to free all of earths yarn after it is stolen by armless alien rabbits.
I was also born in 1987.

i remember that game but the one i played was on the SNES

Well, its been raining, but today it finally got sunny, so me and my buddy went out to climb a mountain, nearby. I was first in Oslo for two days, and then we drove for about 8 hours to Naustdal off the west coast, near the mountains. Been fishing too. Caught myself a lovely 2.5kg Rainbow Trout out of the Fjord. So its been great. Apart from the rain. Been filming as best as I can, so that I can make a movie out of my trip. I'll post trailer of it up for you guys to enjoy. :D

My name means I am God and I will smite your sinful ass old-testament style if you question or otherwise irritate me.
There's something missing in the translation, though.

Funny, I thought it was based on the drink Strike-9 which, in turn, is a perversion of the poison stiknine.

Besides, I'm ****ing sick of this handle and all the bull**** warez junkie/ destructive bastard baggage it's built up from my punk-kid days, and how everywhere I go with a live system no matter what name I run under some "observant" asshole has to go and point out the bleeding obvious that I'm Stryke, so if I wanna improve on the ****ing l33t-kiddie wordplay of the original and say it means I'm ****ing God, then it means I'm ****ing GOD.

Dr as in doctor
and Zer0, spelled like zero but instead od having the letter o at the end I used the number zero so I have 2 zeros basicly, zer(first 3 letters of zero) and 0
