I've always liked the mesh, but the monotone textures that seem to come with it each time are hard on the eyes.

Model is awesome, personally I think the textures could use work. It's too boring. Sking it with Arcadia textures.

I think the maps fit well with the model, I wouldn't change a thing. No need to go overboard with lights and windows, etc.

Listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about. Military stations wouldn't have lots over external windows or crazy lights. The textures are perfect right now.

Has a nice forbidding fortess feel to it - something to feel safe about inhabitting and intimidating to attack.

I suppose if I'm pushed for a suggestion, I would say add some twiddly bits (Radar etc) on the lower sections. Just to break up that panel texture :)

Its about 6 km in lenth and can carry cruisers

No, Terran, I modeld it with Truespace 5.1.

Yes, it is 6km long, it's heavily armed.
8 anti-cap missile launchers
12 beam cannons
several Medium Ion Cannon Turrets
a score of flak/aaf and laser turrets

It has 4 fighterbays (easily seen sticking out on the bottom part), and 2 repairbays for freighters (due to their size even cruisers can dock and reapir there)
Bigger ship dock on the end of it's "arms"

I'll add radars and texture the turrets..perhaps we'll change  texture or two... I do think that install01-03a would look better as the window section..

Oh well...we'll see

looks prety good, though there needs to be some more variation in the textures, just a diferent armor on diferent sections,
and one minor sugestion would be if it isn't too dificult maybe give the two long flat sideways thingys a slight angle to them, so rather than being totaly flat they have something to them, flat and strait lines are easier for people to proces to it makes it look smaller and less complex than it could

I could do that...

But as far as textures go, look at toady warship.... they are never too colorfull...they have 2-3 similar colors MAx (gray, dark grey, even darker gray):D
Making it too colorfull only makes it look less realistic in my oppinion. Alltough using several different textures (but of the same colour) is a good thing.

Hey, Freespace has made it for 5 years already, and 4 of those were before the source code release.  I somehow think it'll hang around for a bit longer.

No, that was the starfields thread in the SCP forum, i needed you for upload, but i resurected my old AHTW storage...

Great model, but it is sort of too grey... I can't suggest how to fix that though...

I want to make it look BIG. While my re-texturing does that, it losta bit of cool-effect. Maby if I darken some textures a bit....and replace one or two....
