Title: Some people should not have car radios
Post by: Woolie Wool on August 23, 2003, 06:00:46 pm
I heard this on someone else's car stereo yesterday. It was being driven by one of those punks who like to turn their stereo up to earth-shattering volumes:

(Please note that the following lyrics may want to make you kill yourself or others)

"He was a skater boy
She said 'see you later, boy'
He wasn't good enough for her
She had a pretty face
But her head was up in space
She needed to come back down to ee-aa-rr-rrth"

I could still hear it when I rolled up my windows, so I floored the pedal out of the stoplight just to get away from the music.:shaking:

Firstly, it's Avril Lavigne.

Secondly, I heard one of those car-park dwelling, Fiat modifying, drunk-driving, burberry wearing ****-heads driving along with that crappy Kelly and Nelly song blasting out of his faggoty 500000watt speakers.

Being open about your sexuality is one thing, but driving along in a car that costs less than a cheese-burger and has enough mods to bankrupt Bill Gates blasting the equivelant of "I'm a raging bum-boy" out the windows is an entirely dfferent matter.

I felt like dragging his ass out the car, holding him down and bludgeoning him to death with huge f*cking rocks.

yeah that song used to be played on like every radio station at least 10 times a day.  it's still overplayed and overrated.  it's also the worst song i've heard by her, but then again, i've only heard like 3 of her songs on the radio, and they all sucked.

my opinion of her is that the recording industry is trying to make her into another "Britney Spears".

EDIT:  Woolie:  how did you remember like half the song just by hearing it once :D  and you didn't miss any of the lyrics at all!  wow!  you musthave a good memory ;) :p

EDIT2:

yeah, but keep in mind it's different to pop in a good coldplay song or something, as opposed to playing Avril Lavigne ;)

*Liked Avril Lavigne
*Saw pic of her without make-up
*Heard the way she constantly insults every other Female singer in the pop genre although she's hardly a catch herself
*bassically narrowed it down to her being the Pop Singer equivilant of Woolie Wool
*stopped liking Avril Lavigne

yeah, you may be right.  Coldplay is in a class of their own though, it's hard to put them into an official category.  you should really listen to them, you won't be disappointed.

Coldplay... aren't they that irritating muzak band. Maybe I have them mixed up with someone...

Nope. I remember that song "Yellow". Heap of greenish, steaming **** straight from a dog's arse and onto the dinner plate of pop culture. They're not actively irritating, like, say, Godsmack (whose appearance on every rock station in the Universe officially signifies the death of the genre and the birth of something new and horrid that should have died and dissolved away in the metaphoric womb for the good of humanity), but that's hardly a redeeming quality.

Anyway. I scrapped plans a year or two back for a directionalized loudspeaker-subwoofer that'd return fire at earthquake levels and tear the mother****ers' mufflers off from twelve feet, but the setup for it cost almost as much as just ramming them and buying a new bumper each time, so I scratched it. Someday, though, when I have, you know, money, that'll be something to aspire to, though...

However. Something to consider- most drivers expect, at absolute worst, aggressive driving as comeuppance. Take every opportunity where you're in the passenger's seat to lean out that window as you pass, wave a good-sized hunting knife, and scream stringed profanities at them in every language you know and a few you made up at the top of your lungs. Throw roadkill and get the driver to try and run them off the side. I can guarantee that they will behave, permanently. And if you hide the knife under the seat, you can just say the bastards musta been on drugs if the cops show around.

I'm constantly subjected to Coldplay at work. They're not half as good as they claim to be. Don't believe their propaganda. Listen to Mr Scruff instead. Or the Leningrad Cowboys. Or Johnny Cash.

BTW for mind bendingly bad lyrics listen to 'Life' by Des'ree, that or anything by Oasis.

Arvil Lavigne Sucks. She is just a downright moron. What she sings isn't really punk rock or music for that matter. She is a product of corporate inbreeding. Them and the rest of those stupid bands like Good "we are a dc punk band from suburban Maryland" Charrlotte. Or Blink 182. Or the rest of those morons. True dat. Though I'm not insanely into music, I do listen to mostly punk, and she ain't it. Real punk is about issues, about deeper **** than "I'm an angry tennager, cause my parents didn't get me Corvette for my 16th birthday, hear me roar".

And not all punk is not necessarily BAD. Anyone hear of minor threat. They founded a movement called straight edge. True many cheat and don't really live a straight edge lifestyle. But even as a Christian I don't agree with their perspective of doin it just for ones self. I do deeply respect those who live up to the life style though. Now also listening and being punk are completly different things. Punk music is just that a playing style. Punk is a life style of protest. It had its birth in the 70s I think.

You what? Freddie had a degree in arty farty stuff, Roger has a degree in art (think), Brian has a degree in astronomy and John plays the bass.

Queen came about when Freddie hi-jacked Roger and Brian's old band Smile after their singer Tim Staffel left. They made a living selling Freddie's paintings in the Camden market until they had scrounged enough recording time to record their first CD.

Queen fact: Brian wanted to call the band Build Your Own Boat. Roger and Freddie overruled him. Thank God.

God bless Freddie Mercury. We loved that guy.

Ok, that's your opinion. Avril is NOT Punk NOR Rock. She's Pop with Rock influence. Yes, all that crap like Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Sum 41, Blink-182...in my opinion suck. I can't stand Pop Punk...let alone Punk. Real Punk is like the Sex Pistols and The Ramones.

Avril Lavigne is pretty good. I like Rock too though. RHCP, Incubus are good too. I really don't like any of that bubblegum pop crap, some of it is OK, but then it just gets on your nerves. HAHA I heard that the record company Britney Spears' is on that they were secretly trying to put sexual fanatasies into the minds of young boys and girls.

This is not directed at anyone here- Some people get jealous of her fame...they start blabbing all this bull**** and can't even atleast sound semi-intellegient when expressing their opinions. Most of them are kids...typical teeny boppers that think so "highly" of an Artist and obsess 24/7 about them. Most of them are just a bunch of little kids who's parents don't care enough to spend time with you and that's why your on the internet at this hour. Since they have no voice off-line, those kids post it here. They are on what I called "The life-time plan." Anywhere will do, K-Mart, Wal-mart, pick a place and that will be your future.

If you don't like Avril, get used to her and get over it. Or as any other Artist, don't listen to them, simple as that, and don't acknowledge anything of them then.

Avril never claimed she was Punk. Your just judging by what she wears. Real Punk is like the Sex Pistols and The Ramones

She has never insulted Britney Spears...all she has said is about Britney is how she uses "sex to sell." That's not insulting. As far as saying that, she has insulted those airhead teeny boppers Aaron Carter and O-Town for lip-syncing at a Radio Show...caused a riot, which I think is funny.

What? Razor's still here?

For ****'s sake, Maeg, if you're gonna ban someone for being a public nuisance, you could at least get him first. Then we'd all be warned and grateful.

Heeey... you know, I just thought of something. Just as you start going on this little anti-flaming crusade to ban people, Razor comes back and starts doing his old idiotic flamebait schtick, a temptation few of the more crotchety members of the board can resist. An0n responds (naturally), and you ban him almost immediately. Convenient, eh? Perhaps too convenient???

The game's up, Maeg. We all know you're Razor or Razor's boss now, you can drop the innocent guise. Place got too independent-minded, you needed to exert your admin power to scare the forum back into being nice little sheep, and so you set an0n up to take the fall! And that wouldn't be a problem- mafia-like abuse and terrorization of innocent people, sure, but not a problem- except it was an open-ended trap- it coulda just as easily been ZB, diamongeezer, or me. And I can't allow that.

Boys, take him in!

Actually, it was me who banned an0n (well, you know that). He both explicitly insulted other members (even if it was Razor - you all should be smarter than that) and threatened to hack his computer (even if he didn't really mean it, but I can't be sure of that). Razor has been warned, by me, for the last time. If he keeps his current behaviour, he will be banned.

Now drop the subject, I don't want people talking about why someone was banned or what else. Do that through private messages.

The best song by Queen is 'We Are The Champions'.

Isn't there a club somewhere in the world which deals with, um, extreme car steroes?  The members compete to see who can build the loudest car stereo.  I think their record was nearly as loud as the Space Shuttle main boosters, but it did have about eight high-power amplifiers strung end-to-end, with about a dozen speakers.
I'd hate to get stuck in traffic next to one of those guys.
