What is up with fileplanet, went to download a (ZIP) file and its somthing other than a zip wtf.
What the hell is going on
-
well, what was it?
-
downloaded apollo.zip
instead I get this apollo2.zip&blah&newtab=1
Now what is that sapose to mean??
-
try.. downloading it again?
-
KT i`ve tried three times and got the same thing.
The only thing that i`ve done was cleared all IE cache and cookies, but I hardly think this could be the cause because i`ve clear all history before and didn`t have this prob.
And its not just the apollo.zip, but everyone that i`ve tried today.
Could it be something for win XP?
-
You using any Download program?
-
Ahhh, yes a download acceralator..
yes and i`m going to put an end to it right now..
I`m on cable can`t fathom why I even tried it in the first place:wtf:
Thanks for the reply TheCelestialOne.. Wanders off feeling kind of stupid for not noticing this in the first place :wtf:
(edit) Uninstalled it, it asked me what my reasons were for not liking it :wtf:
-
Umm... Tried removing that crap after the .zip file extension? Could be it's downloaded alright but your browser has screwed up the filename.
-
Use Download Accelerator Plus, it gives you an option to choos between "Regular"download or "Accelerated" download. Also, when it downloads an html page (as you did) you get the option to open the page instead of getting a f*cked up file.
Its perfect for these situations ;)
-
Tried removing all the crap (&bla=$newtab=1) from the file extension and my zip program wanted to make a new archive, so I did and it was unreadable..
Must stay away from download accelrators in the future.
(edit) I`m on cable, and my downloads are quicker, so I really don`t need an accelerator, as to why I tried it in the first place, could a brain freeze explain it..
My download speed varies, it depends on the server. Anyway fileplanet was not at fault here, I was :nervous:
