Title: Registering GMax
Post by: Killfrenzy on August 24, 2003, 07:57:25 pm
Has anyone actually done this successfully?

I've tried FOUR TIMES now with different VALID email accounts and they never send me a passcode......

Ideas, peeps?:(

Well, err, I've done it successfully twice - dunno why you'd have problems though.

Happened to me to, yesterday.

However, you can find a code on astalavista.com, but that's kinda ilegal.

However, since you applied for the code i see no harm in it.

Cheers

So, Discreet tout Gmax 1.2 as being a superb product that you can get for free, but you can't register it......

And here I was wanting to do renderings and animation....

No, you have to find codes for GMAX 1.2 , codes for earlier versions will not work

Oh, well you're barking up the wrong Tree anyway. Why do you think GMax is so small (compared to Max anyway) and so, well, free? Discreet cut all the rendering features out of GMax, so whiles it's got almost all the functions of the latest maxs modeller (except save as 3ds or .max I'm afraid, but the md3 exporter lets you get around that) It doesn;t have a renderer.

In a word(after all those waitings): Nobody has ANY idea how to make GMax work?
I downloaded it because you had suggested it to Cancer, and I thought I can discover a new world ... I disappointed.

At least I have downloaded one more program ith my ADSL connection, so nobody may tell I am not using its data transfer rate. :)

Try contcting Discreet - thy must have sme sort of email address you could use to answer proggy queries - if the registration system is screwing up for all of you, then it must constitute a bug, and that's something they'd probably want to know about.

I tried refreshing ... didn't work. I will try a re-install. But first of all, I try changing Direct3d to something else.

As I supposed: Problem fixed, Direct3d was not okay.
All clear.
