Well, it's been sitting on my hard drive. I wanted to play around with the stars and the planet - decided to blur things a bit since the camera in this shot is following the Orion heading towards the planet - not the background. Hope you like!

Nice one Kal  :)
-
Nice.
Very Nice.
What u do it in?
-
Photoshop.
Uh, thats it :)

Personally I think the BG has too much of a "movie screen-cap" look to me.
-
well, I think it looks cool, that's a thing I love, actually, the "movie screen cap" feeling.
But I really think the damn Orion mesh needs to be updated. It really lacks details...
-
Call me stupid, but what's "movie screen cap"? :)

As if it was screen capture made from a movie in a moving scene. They tend to be blurry and have less detail. ;)
-
Ahh, that's a fair call - everything in that image has some motion blur - the background more so than the fore ground. I guess it's all a matter of taste though! I'm glad people like it.

Pretty, but the glow cuts off kind of abruptly on the Orion... :)

*looks*
He's right... right at the upper rear portion the glow has cut off..
-
Whoops, so it does... I guess I need to change the way I do a few things (that glow is obviously for the engine glow but I didn't make the image resolution large enough and so the cut off is visible. *sighs*

i'm guessing that the glow was on a separate photoshop layer, you /could/ have resized the glow in order to make it fit properly.... but it seems like a mere oversight to me...
-
Exactly right :)
I actually create a new image all together and create the engine glow on that using Axion - of course usually the line around the edge doesn't show up but in this case it did and I overlooked it. Silly me!

I like the movie effect actually. Reminds me of Star Wars: ANH with the Star Destroyer headed towards Tatooine. :D

Not a bad for a render. Gimme some time to finish with my HTML test on Tuesday, and I'll do some rendering myself. ;7
