number 1 rule in picking colors: always include all 3 channels. point in case: those yellow particle things. pleny of R and G, but not B.

I think it all kicks are except the particles on the Herc, looks too... almost cartoony.
Am I considered biased being on the LM team? :nervous:

Finally someone noticed the thing I'm really proud of! 'Tis not easy doing explosions without acres of stock footage.

Better materials point taken, though I'm pretty much restricted to what FS2 can offer me. I've been cooking up some bump maps lately though, we'll see how that looks. Once I get Max operational again.
More details... well, the best I could do was add scorch marks to the HercII. As I mentioned, I am restricted to FS2 models.

On what? I'm rather happy with how the beams and explosions turned out. The thing with the trails on the HercII that has been mentioned before I intend to fix shortly.

Everyone makes stuff to their own tastes, I like the explosions, but then, I like bright lively images, some people prefer darker, more gothic images :)

Everything has it's place. It's not the colors or the brightness of the image in general that bother me, it's the fact that those "joyful" colors and the theme of war don't fit together that well.

First two are pretty cool. Would be nice to have a bit more blur and a bit more particle fade in the explosions (particularly the lower one), but in an anim they'll look all right. The fire trail in the fourth one looks like ass, but you can do a quick fix by reducing the yellow (by a lot) and adding a second particle trail (similar but fatter, with slightly larger gray particles) for smoke.

Looks very good, but the particle spew on the explosions and ship look strange.
