Title: Gmax problem and question...
Post by: Hippo on August 29, 2003, 11:53:53 am
Problem; I have downloaded Gmax, and installed it, but I have tried to get the ID code for 2 days now. I have submitted all the required fields seven times now supplying 2 different email adresses. Yes, 7. Not ONE has come to me from EITHER adress, after two and a half days.

Question; What will i need to use to convert the Gmax files to POFs?

to convert to pof you need the Quake 3 plugin for gmax.
save you model as an .md3 convet it to a .cob with Lith or 3dexploration then convert the .cob to .pof

Check the FAQ for a link to the ship creation guide. IP Andrews put up a copy of the last free version.

it really should be in FS Modding, but...

All i can save as in Gmax is a .Gmax file... Lithunwrap won't open it to convert or retexture it... am i missing a step when saving?

Just for future reference, once you install the Q3 plugin, you'll need to convert to editable mesh and export to .md3, as you can't just save to it
