I use this program called 3D Exploration for that; the shareware version only runs for 30 days but it works fairly well. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

bah, just save as 3ds in TS, then import the 3ds file with Max  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

 As bad as u guys hate to hear it, i wont do any modeling, im just converting em so some can use 3dmax to make em into SODS

I gave up on the armada conversion.
Every time I download the conversion plugin for max 3.0 and try to unzip it winzip tells me that there's a bad crc.  The one for max 4.1 unzips just fine but fails to even show up.

So I'm scrapping my modding programs and converting FS ships to Palladium game standards.  That, at least I know I can handle without any issues.

 A guy from stamods.de and I are doing one for STA1 and STA2 using the FS2 ships, he will do the converting, but if you have armada and wanna help on anything feel free to join us, well have a website up as soon as i can find some one to do it, or have time!!!

Palladium Books, a series of dice and paper rpg's.  Namely Palladium Fantasy, Rifts (apocolyptic future with monsters coming through giant portals, magic returns to the world), T.M.N.T. & other strangeness, Ninja's & Superspies, Heroes Unlimited, Phase World (Space-sci-fi), NightSpawn(Horror), Mutants in space, Robotech, Macross...  And about 30 supplementary books for Rifts, not counting the others.

Pick a flavor.
Now, with that flavor take into account that any and all characters can be crossed into other settings with less then 10 minutes effort.

I'm currently figuring out an easy and fair way to assign weapon damages from Freespace ships and beams to there.  

After that I have to write up just HOW the terrans/vasudans wound up in this alternate universe, where they're stationed/hidden and what their plans are in case the shivans come to the three galaxies (Phase world setting).

I've written 400k today, and that's just weapon and ship descs.  I haven't done species histories, diplomacies with other governments, planned ship modifications for adding weapons...  Because with the colossus at 80 turrets (Got it from the ships description, tables stop at 64 or so), it still gets it's rear handed to it by ships that are half it's size.

*Yawns and decides now would be a good time to go to bed before I keel over and collapse.*
