Yeah, but... what would you need one for? Most everyone here knows all they want or need to about the campaigns, etc., I suspect this would have very limited use, if any at all...

I just want to know why you used some screwy MS-only format that isn't even used by many MS users here. I'm sure this could be accomplished using the rather widely supported xml formats (which, conveniently, would be accessible from a web browser) or something else. *subtly recommends a different format*

Before you recomend a format recomend a program thats as easy to use first.

Excel maybe? Or one of the other countless spreadsheet programs.

....

excel is the same as access except that this is a database  and excel makes tables

acess uses tables to make a database.

Spread sheets and spreadsheet programs are wothless for this type of program. So i need a Database making program that has the ease of use that Microsoft Acess does.

In addition wasn't the whole reason Access wasn't good because it was Microsoft?

Edit: And i have to be able to distribute it to people that dont have the program.

For F***'s sake if you couldn't complain anymore about Access and referring to Microsoft as crap...WHY THE F*** do you use a Microsoft Operating System for :hopping:

Microsoft Office and its components and programs are much more stable and useful then any Operating System they've released by FAR!!

btw I just checked this out...very nice work Krackers87!

I didn't say Office was bad (though it surely isn't all that good) but MSAccess is just pure crap. There are more database proggies I'd prefer over the MS variant anyday.

Well, its either that or he does it in Oracle. :shaking:

:p

Hmm, I must try the database in Open Office some time.

Hmmm, I have no use for this as yet, but it looks like you've put in a fair amount of effort into this - so well done and thanks for that. ;)

Actually, for small scale databases that need no concurrency, and do not need to have a server behind them, Access is pretty good.

As soon as you leave the 'small scale' realm, though, you should move on to something serious, like PostgreSQL, or on up to DB2, Oracle, etc.

You're on the right path with Gentoo. Now just take the full leap to FreeBSD and you'll have completed your journey. ;)
