Well I've taken it upon myself to actually define eyepoints for my models since their guns were acting up a little. But not matter what I do for my XB-290, I get this:
(http://www.swooh.com/peon/diamondgeezer/images/Fux0red.jpg)
Which is odd since both the firepoint and the eye point are dead centre on the Y axis. Why the laser appears to the left like that I don't know. I've moved the eyepoint back and forth to no avail. I don't want to move it up or down particularly. Here are the dimensions of the laser:
@Laser Bitmap: newglo8
@Laser Glow: 2_laserglow03
@Laser Color: 69, 42, 172
@Laser Color2: 69, 42, 172
@Laser Length: 15.0
@Laser Head Radius: 1.5
@Laser Tail Radius: 1.0
Suggestions?

What's the model look like? :)

maybe wrong z axis?

Give us a ModelView screenshot of the model's eyepoint and firepoints. (Turn on Show Guns, then go to the first tab of the POF editor and hit Print Screen.)

But, but, but then the secret will be out... oh **** it, here you go. I've tried not to give to much of the model away:

Now, the gunpoint is at 0, -0.63, 6.9 and the eyepoint is currently at 0, 0.4, 5 which is a bit further forword than I originally had it. Oh, and the normals are forward, natch. The plan is this: I will eat curry and chips whilst you lot work the problem out. Then I will return and distribute cookies. The end.

This is the problem. For whatever reason, when the eyepoint is not centred from left to right, the HUD is drawn offset by a proportional amount. You see, your eyepoint and guns actually are lining up correctly, but the HUD graphics are not being drawn where they should be, so it causes the illusion that the laser is misaligned (because we erroneously tend to assume that the crosshair is the centre of the screen).
I've posted this error in bugzilla, and Inquistor was going to fix it, but it seems he forgot. If we both whine persistently here (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=90), maybe he'll get around to it.

:wtf: I thought Bugzilla was broken

Parts of warpcore are coming back up bit by bit.
And Sesq - you seem to have your names mixed up. ;)
