Now for someone to work out the mass of penies equivilant to that of the GTVA Colossus ;)

A billion pence. . . no pennies. :)

Just think of what would happen if someone knocks over that cube of pennies... :D

Just think about how hard it would be to stack those pennies in the first place ;)
Once they are there, though, a nuclear bomb could probably go off beside them and most would still be sitting there.
-
Actually I have never really tried stacking pennies (or any other coins) like that; do they fit snugly on top of each other? If they are really precariously balanced, even a gust of wind might do it. :D (since the pennies appear to arranged in distinct columns and not in just a random mix) I think the pennies might do quite a bit of damage when they hit the ground from such heights. :D

I'd really love to see that. :)

Find a way to get the "cornerstone" out and the entire thing crumbles :p

The only problem with that is that if you tried to get the bottom penny out of a stack of pennies several hundred feet tall, the mass pressing down on it from the rest of the pennies in the stack would prevent you from doing much of anything. The thing is, there is nothing holding the pennies together, so the best way to start making a mess is to go to the top and push a spike in to the pile somewhere near the edge. Just shove a big spike down one of the holes between 4 stacks; you'd knock the thing over pretty quickly. Of course, if you could somehow shift the geometry of the whole thing at once, so that instead of a cube you have a leaning box, then THAT would be interesting :D

This is the sort of site that makes me want to rant about what a Billion actually is...
1,000,000,000 OR 1,000,000,000,000
-
http://www.kokogiak.com/megapenny/nineteen.asp

novemtrigintillion 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
WHOA!
That's over a hundred zeroes!
-
pff
novemtrigintillion^novemtrigintillion
would be far more interesting.
Though I still prefer Graham's Number, and I demand that someone try to write it down, despite the fact that you can't.

Post you guys lock forums for with the message 'don't spam'. Actually, you're more lenient towards the S word than the other admins, but if I'd have posted this topic Mr Windrunner or Mr Styxx would have locked it instantly.
See what banning an0n did? Look what you've turned me in to! :nervous: Er.. yes. Ahem. *runs*

The sheer pressure on the bottom pennies will do it.

First one's a billion, second one's a trillion.

Don't be so sure. At the most base level, it's a math threa- oh. I see your point. Hmm.

That's where opinion differs.
1,000,000,000 is one-hundred-thousand million.
Surely a billion should a million-million.

:wtf:
One hundred thousand million is a Helluva Lot more then a billion...
1 Billion = 1000 * 1.000.000
NOT
1 billion = 100.000 * 1.000.000 (that'd be 100.000.000.000)
Every step is *1000 :p Hence the appearance of 3 new zero's at every step.

So it is.
I've got to stop trying to prove things at such an early hour.
-
CP, find the volume of the collosus.
-
so how many pennies would make a planet roughly the size of earth?
-
let's keep this project going people.
one octillion pennies: about the size of Mars.
-
I'm going to say it - stacking pennies is futile
-
One... hundred..billion..pennies!
