What was your favorite fight scene in the Matrix: Reloaded? :D
-
Jackie Chan's Legend of Drunken Master whoops Neo and his cronies any day. :p
-
Are you talking about the old school "Drunken Master" with Jackie Chan when he was young? or the newer version?
-
Go Smith!
-
does anyone here have the DVD/Screener/etc.? cause it's awesome to go back a few seconds and watch parts over and over and over again.
i watched the first fight scene (between Neo and the three agents, at the meeting) about 10 times in a row, and the music is PERFECT for the fight.
-
its called 'Furious Angles' by Rob Dougan.
all the fight scenes rocked.
-
It's probably going to have to be the Burly Brawl, if I'm forced to chose. But Morpheus fighting the Agent on top of the truck was rather 1337 as well. He'd obviously been practicing since the first one
-
Seraph is the man.. err program
i also liked the chase scene, the stairway scene and the Neo vs Smiths battle
-
I refuse to vote, as the whole movie was essentially one long action sequence. The fight scenes were good, but they were too long. Like the one where Neo fights Smith (and Smith, and Smith etc) after talking to the Oracle... there was no reason for that fight scene to be as long as it was.
-
Er, that was part of the cool value. It went on and on, with neither side showing much sign of wear, and you realised just what it would take to bring Neo down. Or something. Ah **** it, I'm going to bed.

The sequel to the old (and fairly painful) "Drunken Master", called "Legend of Drunken Master".
I'm not exaggerating when I say that what he does in that movie is so far beyond anything Matrix / Crouching Kitten, Hidden Lizard / Jet Li ever did that it's not even funny. ;)
-
I agree, Jackie Chan is the bomb. Computers? Bah! ;)
-
The Burly Brawl and Chatou fight. Agent Smith owns both Neo and Jackie. Uhmmm...and what about Jet li?
-
Chateau all the way! That music is still eating my brains...
The multiple Smith fight kinda looks even better but is way too unreal. Even for the Matrix. Not my taste.

There were two "Drunken Master"s i believe, the old one anda newer one.
You haven't seen "Hero" have you ;)

I got the Chateau on MP3. ;7 Listening it all the time when playing action games. On my playlist is also:
Burly Brawl
Supermoves ;7
The Wounders of you
Andy Hunter - Go
etc...
And I went through a lot of trouble to find: I am not driving anymore Instrumental but I got it. :D

Ok, to set the record straight:
There are 2 Jackie Chan movies with the words "drunken" and "master" in the titles. One, the first (when Jackie was fairly young), is called "Drunken Master". It's not all that good a movie.
The second one, called "Legend of Drunken master", is da b0mb. :D

wrong, there's Drunken Master, Drunken Master 2 ,and Legend of Drunken Master

You probably never heard of Drunken master 2 because it was never released in the US.
Drunken Master 3 was a dead loss in my opinion, so i didn't mention it. however it does exist.

Matrix 0\/\/NZ!!!
The fight with the Agent Smiths was a bit too artifical-looking. Smith wasn't fighting like the Agents normally do; he was just trying to overrun and grab Neo. That sequence could and should have been a lot better.
The staircase battle was pretty good, but I liked the Freeway Chase more:
'You're not done yet.' *drives around to front of truck* 'Go kick his ass.'
Anyone played 'Enter the Matrix'? It's played from the PoV of Niobe and Ghost. And if you play as Niobe you get to drive the car during the Freeway Chase... Damn good game, but it's a bit short. It does explain a lot of the second film, especially the very end, when Neo stops the Sentinels.
In 'EtM', the Oracle makes a very important observation: 'The truth is, the path of the One is made by the many. If one fails, all shall fail'. I can't wait for Matrix: Revolutions to arrive.
-
ETM was absolutely awesome. Focus moves are fantastic. Graphics were supperb. Fighting agents does really give you a Matrix feeling, and the fighting against multiple Smiths is too awesome. Burly brawly. ;7 Also, hacking...great stuff. Anyway, since we are talking about hacking...did anyone notice what program did Trinity use in the movie to hack the power grid?
I especially like Smith's line when he encounters Niobe/Ghost in the hallway
By the way, Anyone saw the movie scene with Persifonie and Niobe. ;7
-
Still haven't seen The Matrix Reloaded. Can't say I feel particularly bothered either.
-
you couldn't be bothered?
well hey! neither could we!
-
The duel between the 'great master' and Neo. I had the feeling that Darth Maul and Obi-Wan are fighting without lightsabers. :)
really!
-
yeah that was good, i didn't like the music though... it sounded too... tribal :D

What does it explain about that?
-
Neo 'touched the source, and in doing so, seperated his mind from his body. Now he exists between the real world and the Matrix'. So he didn't stop the Sentinels. But he was affected by the EMP that shut them all down, because he was still partly in the Matrix.
Heh, Smith's corridor line was great.
Smith: *opens door on the right* 'Damn, not who I was hoping for, but maybe you can lead me to him.'
Niobe: 'Who are you?'
Smith: 'You could say that I am the Alpha...'
Smith 2: *opens door on the left* '...of your Omega.'
One of the better Agent lines in the Matrix, I think.
With all the mythical creatures (previous Agents) in the Merovingian's palace, I had the nagging feeling that Persephone was based on something mythical. After a scan through the D&D Monster Manual, I came to the following conclusion: she's probably a Succubus. I'm certainly not sure that she's human, although Neo would know.
I'm waiting for the DVD of The Matrix: Reloaded. October 14th doesn't seem to be coming any closer, and it'll probably be the 21st before it arrives in Britain.

but what EMP? i was under the impression that he stopped the sentinels himself, hurting himself in the process. but it makes sense what you say, because a few seconds after Neo and the sentinels 'die' that other ship (Hammer?) comes and picks them up, so perhaps it was that ship's EMP that stopped them?

Hero's good, but if I recall, it's all armed is it not? Amazing in its own right, but I wouldn't compare it with what Jackie Chan does.

Smith 3: I am the beginning

Smith 4: Of your end... ( I like the way he said that line)
I said it before and I'll say it again. Smith rules and is my number 1 favorite character in the movies/game.

indeed... and hugo weaving breathes malevolence into smith like nothing else... i doubt that any other actor could've done such an excellent job of it:nod:

yeah i know, i saw Legend of drunken master too, and it was awesome, but you can't say it's what jackie chan "does". remember, no movie in the world is true fighting, it's all wire work, "hollywood wushu" etc. so it's not really what Jackie Chan does, it's what the choreographer does ;)
-

same with bruce lee movies.. meaning that there's no wire work whatsoever...

Actually, Jackie doesn't use wires, stuntmen, or anything like that. Yeah, the fights are choreographed (98% of the time by him I'd say), but the pure talent Jackie has definitely shows through.
And I never heard of anything beyond "Drunken Master" and "Legend of...", you're right. :)

Sadly, it's not quite true anymore. The last 2 movies involved Hollywood techiques: the Tuxedo was basically all computers, and the Talisman used wires.
-
it's not true that Jackie Chan doesn't use wires... every hollywood actor uses wires in 99.9% of fight scenes ;) (except with cheesy hand-to-hand ones). yeah, Jackie Chan definately uses wires (check "Drunken Master" and you'll see what i mean, particularly at the end fight scene). see, the true power of wire work is making it look like the actor's not using wires... that it's completely natural :)
But yea i'll definatley admit that out of Jet Li, Chow yun fat, etc. Jackie Chan definately is the most skilled as far as performing his own stunts, choreographing his own fight scenes, using the least wires (only when necessary) etc.

Sorry, my bad - I meant Jackie Chan movies, not Hollywood crap that happen to have Jackie starring in them. ;)
And Stealth, Drunken Master was (IIRC) so corny that I'm not going to waste time and effort looking for a copy. :)

ahhh, yeah Jackie Chan choreographed/directed movies are awesome
Yeah, i bought Drunken Master a few years ago, watched it once, then it's been sitting gathering dust. do you want it? cause i'll pay you to take it :) ;) legend of drunken master is probably one of, if not the, best jackie chan movies i have.

What was your favorite fight scene in the Matrix: Reloaded?
I would much preffer the scene where Mr Smith kicks Mr Anderson's ass in the subway fight in The Matrix. :drevil:
-
That's the one where Smith gets killed by a train, no?
Hmm... you're not Razor in disguise are you?
-
ALL the original Matrix fights were cool. From Neo vs. Morpheus, to the Lobby Gunfight, to the subway duel.
Smith didn't die there, though. Agents don't die. He was just temporarily inconvenienced.

yeah but we're talking about the Matrix Reloaded ;)
-
I'd have to say my favourite fight scene was the first 90 minutes of the film ;)
Damn fine movie, no matter what the critics said, and I wanna see the 3rd :)
Flipside :D
-
yeah i liked it
i thought that whole "Zion Party/Neo sex scene" went on a little too long though :doubt:
-
Yeah, needed more Trinity Yum-yum and less Neo-muddy-mud.

It really is not that good. If you want it for the hour of extra video, go for it. The game play sucks, you get stuck in walls, some levels are like 10 mins long and other ones are like 30 sec long.
Really bad. Unless you like to watch girls make out ( :thepimp: there is one really cool video in it) dont get it. Rent it maybe.
-
I don't even see why people would have bought it for the 'extra video footage' anyways.. besides that one scene.
Even my reasoning: "**** yeah it'll be good! It's the Matrix!"
:blah:

you liked Trinity!?
i thought she was ****ing ugly.
-
Of course you thought she was ugly. They didn't show four minutes of Keanu's asshole for just anyone...
-
yeah i'll bet you liked that part didn't you.
i think (and everyone i know, male and female) Trinity is ugly as hell. they could've picked someone hotter to play the part
