Yes, you heard it...we're looking for modelers/texturers again....
So far I do 90% of the work... with a little help from FT and Vickalis
Note that you don't have to do everything - we have lots of models that just need finishing or textureing..we allso have models in the starting stages.
If you want to help out, reply to this post, write what you can do, and in which programs you can do it...

I can`t model to save my life, but can do turret axis, fov data and subsystem data.. If it helps any..

(edit) Oh forgot, I can do shields for fighters, turreted ships tend to lose all turret data, using Segeltuch v0.3.4.236

using segeltouch you also lose all collision info too. so it's quite good at making ghost ships ;)

It might help....DOTA is currently down to 2-3 people...
Practicly the only people that have been doing something from the beginning.....
NOTE: ANYONE that joins DOTA will have a big say in EVERYTHING that goes on - you have a good idea for a mission? You have a good idea for a ship/station/weapon? there is a 90% chance that you will see it in DOTA in the end....

I can do ships table data also, one detail I forgot to mention.. Oh and my texturing skills aren`t any better than yours, I can apply already made textures, but can`t make them..
Hmm Rats. thanks Vasudan Admiral, I was unaware of the loss of collision data useing segeltuch. ;) Question, does that apply to just cap ships, or are fighters affected as well?
(edit) Ok gave the Frazi fighter from the Babylon Project shields, to test the waters and it kept all data intact, well this time anyway.

Are you useing any ancient ships in DOTA, if you are I found a problem with the AD Pylos..
I noticed the engine glows were faceing the wrong way and corrected it, the engine glows on this model are visable from behind.
If you want it to use it in a campaign, i`ll send it to you..
Oh i`ll also send you the table entry for it, just say the word.
Oh, and I can`t take any credit for the Pylos model, its Bob`s..

oh, just adding shields might work ok, but for me doing anything else just made the ship a ghost. (on occasion it would keep collision data, but it would be very, very wrong. nearing the ship you would hit something that wasn't there, or be flying through the ship when midship you hit something etc.)

You can do turrets? That could be VERY usefull.... As you can imagine there are many big ship with LOTS of turrets....
Do keep trying to improve your skills.... One can never know too much....

Well that didn`t go very well, was up till 3 am trying to place turrets.. :o
Hmm. I should have stated that I can do (pof) turret data, firing points, etc. Can also do fighter paths, but docking paths give me a problem, but am willing to learn..
I`m sorry for the confusion I may have cause you, and I feel quite stupid now..
Can you still use me for doing pof data, that is more my area of expertice..

Trashman, I found a bug in the assualt transport .
I Don`t know if you have tried it in game yet.
I put it in a mission where a transport had to dock to it and guess what happened, if you have already tried it then you know the outcome, your pc crashed to desktop as mine did.
I fixed the crash bug.:D
All that it needed was pathed, it works fine now, if you want this pof I can send it to you, but right now i`m pathing all the subsystems and turrets first, this way if you tell a bomber to destroy any subsystem or turret they will destroy that target..
I don`t know if you`ll read this or not but I figured i`d post it anyway. :D :D

Yea, that station had me going crosseyed, hehehe, from the sheer size of it I can understand why it would be a major undertaking to turret. :eek2: :nervous:

I have the Cobra and the Galaxy for you. Somethings wrong with hotmail so I can't send it to you.
Get it HERE (http://www.swooh.com/peon/Trashman/Misc/POFingstuff.zip)
See if the Cobra has any pof data missing(like docking bays).
For the Galaxy Carrier you'll need to add all data. I sent you the older pof file of it Galaxy.pof so you can just copy turret/thruster and other data!

Ahh beautiful ships Trashman :D To aid me in making sure there are no bugs in the finished product, i`ll whip up a table entry.

This is what i`ve done so far..
Galaxy Carrier: all turret data (paths firing points) are done.
Have to do fighterbay and hangerbay paths to finish, then I can bug test. Hope to have it done tonight..
It seems aurora puts in a single path for fighterbays, should have at least 4 to work right, so i`ll put the rest of the paths in with PCS.
Question: How many paths do you want for the hangerbays on the carrier?

4 paths per fighterbay, allso 4 for the hangarbay.

Whitelight...I sent you the civilian Station. add pof data to it and we'll release it publicly.
It has two fighterbays (4 paths each) and two MASSIVE hangarbays (no paths for them).
put a dock or two wherever it suits you.
Don't forget to put the turrets and radar dish to rotate!
I'll be sending you more ships once I fix them.....

Update: galaxyCarrier, all attack paths are in, the fighterbay hangerbay launch paths will take a little longer than I had thought, but not to worry, i`m on top of it. :)
(edit) The e-mail you sent me for the civillian station, didn`t have a download file attached? :(
Oh forgot to mention my yahoo account won`t allow an e-mail file over 4mb :sigh: an oversight on my part.
If its not to much trouble, could you send the civiy station again, thanks in advance.
