I modelled a space station roughly a week ago, this one will be used only in Renegade Ressurgence.

more info and additional posts are here (http://www.cold-space.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84)
The traffic at Cold-space is quite rare, so I found it better to post a new thread here.
I am curious for your opinions including critism and commendation. :D

:eek2:
It's the Pentagon in space!!!
Ignore that if it was actually supposed to be round...

I think its alright. Contrary to everyone else's opinions I don't mind the bottom ring. Though the textures don't quite match up with the central hub. As someone else said they look a little too stretched.
I disagree with what Ashrak said on your board that it should be spinning. This is Freespace and to my knowledge they have artificial gravity. The only things which spin on FS ships are sensor arrays, or ram-scoops. Making a habitation section spin simply wouldn't fit. You were also mention that spinning it might screw up the turret AI. I guess its a good thing for TBP that Babylon 5 mounts nearly all of her weaponry on the non-spinning spine or backbone of the station.

It looks fairly low detail. Some doodads (radar dishes, pointless (but pointy) antennae, turrets etc.) would help break it up, as would more complex texturing.
Just my opinion though.

 My thoughts exactly :D
I actually kinda like it.

Ahh ... Thank you for the current posts, I am glad to see that more people like this job here than at Cold-Space.
I am facing quite difficulties modifying the bottom side, the problem is that it is already unioned to the main body, and separating that bottom ring is impossible. But I am still fighting with it, I have confidence, but TS hits heavily :).

It wanted to be a five-sided cylinder basically. I was quite afraid of high-poly models, because I am not so good at making LODs, and it won't have any. :(
