Can anyone actually pass this mission? This is the mission where you escort the AWACS then a frigate and a bunch of un-lockable fighters bushwhack you. But after playing it 8 times, I finally won, and got the big victory debriefing but it said I failed the mission (because the AWACS got killed). And so I thought "to hell with this, I'm not going to play this mission again" (because its kind of an annoying mission).
Anyway, so I kill myself 5 times to skip it. It gives me the option to skip and I say yes. Then I get the briefing for "Qouth the Raven". So I kill myself agian 5 times, agian "Qouth the Raven". And even before I won the mission I lost 5 times, but still "Qouth the Raven".
I can niether skip this mission, nor pass it. What the hell? I think I'm just gonna have to exit the GTVI loop, and extract the final mission so I can play it in the simulator. Unless someone else has a solution. I tried pilot view thinking I could pass cheat with it to pass the mission, but the program seems to be very non-interactive.

I've never played derelict, but it sounds like a sexp problem to me? Kind of odd that it should turn up in such an old campaign though?
Hmmmm... to be honest, maybe someone who has actually played Derelict can help you more.

Never had this problem, the AWACS dies every time, the destroyer gets perforated (but survives) and my wingmen fly off to die at the hands of enemies they can't target, ignoring my "form on my lead" order.
THe only thing I can think of is the hostile AWACS surviving. Did you kill it?

I too have been flumoxed by that mission, methinks a Fredder should take a look at the victory conditions. But I think you have to eliminate all the fighters, and I mean ALL the fighters including the wings that haven't jumped in when you're told to leave.

Where can i get hold of Derelict ?

Nope, that's not it. The mission objectives:
-AWACS must finish waypoints
-AWACS must depart
-Destroyer must depart
The first two are invalidated but I think this is the problem:
Alarcity is down!
-When
-is-destroyed-delay
-1
-Alarcity
-send-message-list
-invalidate-goal
-Patrol area
-Protect Alarcity
The problem seems to be, that the goals are invalidated AFTER they've been failed. Or at least that's my take on it. Still doesn't explain why I haven't been able to skip the damn thing by killing myself.
I think there are some other bugs as well. One problem is in finding the enemy AWACS in the first place:
The Destroyer says 'I think there's a ship around, we'll get a fix in a minute'. But finding the ship isn't time sensitive, it depends on destroying Artemis DH bombers. So four and a half minutes later the ship shoots, says 'we can't hit it' and then 'oh hey, there's the AWACS go kill it.'
It also doesn't make sense to me why the enemy Frigate would smoke the AWACS but afterwards would just move around for 14 minutes and not fire at the Destroyer or the Corvette. Despite the fact its fired upon at least once.
Not my favourite mission by any means.

...I never played Derelict either... Or Warzone... or...
-
Is it actually called the "Alarcity" in this mission?
-
If I remember correctly it's 'Alacrity'
-
I never had this problem. Wierd......
-
Same here - it's always worked just fine for me...
-
Perhaps a glitchy version makes the rounds every now and then - it would explain why Derelict problems seem to come in waves.
There's only one thing wrong with my version of Derelict, and that's that one of the missions doesn't have a debreifing.
-
You know, several of mine do not have debriefings. And the one where you have to take down that Demon class destroyer towards the end, if I just hit full burners and run towards it the game exits for no appearent reason. It doesn't do that when I sit and wait for it for a minute or so, then run towards it.
