Title: Just a little idea...

Hi there, I just thought up a little idea, and I dont know if it would work or not, but how about a fix so that different warp out effects could be used?

This way Mods could have a warp out effect like the B5 one or Homeworld or a trek like one...  Could something like this be done?  :confused:

This would be cool also for chucking in unstable subspace animtions and wat not as well, and for other uses in standard FS2 campaigns, not just TCs.

why stop there, lets allow difrent ships to have difrent warp out effects.  or at the vary least a difrent effect for fighters and cap ships.  also nice would be allowing a warp In effect.  just my 2¢

what aboutmaking a table entry on what effect to use, and a added paremeter in that SEXP that opens a node at will.

This is done; it's possible to open a warp hole arbitrarily in the mission.

As far as custom warp ANIs go, it's already implemented to an extent; checking the 'Special Warp' box on the ship's arrival or departure cues will make the warp ANI green instead of blue.

That's what Kasperl was on about. If you implement multiple warp effects you'll need to edit that SEXP to take advantage of it or it would only open the default effect every time.

Personally I agree about the table entry idea but give us the option to override it in FRED. :)

That way we can have different warp effects for shivan ships but have the standard effect for captured maras etc.

Heh - I wish!

I'd LOVE to be able to have a trek-esque jump system, but I don't think it's possible.......

What about one like Starlancer?
