Vote and/or reply, especially if it isn't on the list!
Mine is, of course, Blender 2.23 and 2.25!
[EDIT] Forgot to select that stupid box. Oh Well! just reply about your favorite 3D app!

*laughs with sadistic pleasure*
yes. but seeing as there isn't a .blend or a .max/.3ds converter, you all still have to use it.
I never said I didn't like max. I can use it (fairly effectively), but find TS easier for making FS2 stuff.
-
Truespace rox buddies... 5.1 is beter than 6 too :p

Bah. Children. :p

when you make, texture, and import something better than I can do, you can say that, until then, shove it :p

That's why I use the IO Suite by scorpious. (sorry can't find link) It imports and exports many file formats including .cob and can read .scn!

I use Lightwave (I'm still in the learning phase, very much so), I quite like it so far.
I've tried Blender and Truespace, both struck me as unusable. I tried gmax, that was rather good too. (I still have to try Maya, and XSI)
-
Abacus' FSDS 2 Pro. Yep. Since the only modelling I do is for FS 2002-2004.
-
MAX here.
Tried Lightwave and found it confusing, though it was a half-hearted attempt.
I'll have to try XSI someday, though.
-
Max!!!!!!
I've been thinking of trying Lightwave, but I know Max like the palm of my hand (well at least everything animatable), so I don't think I'll bother to relearn

I prefer TS6 personally. Why do you like TS5.1 better?

'Cos I managed to, er, you know, get it on the cover of a magazine... :nervous:
Anyway, TrueSpace seems easy enough for basic stuff, which is all I'm capable of. I don't know any of the fancy stuff so I couldn't comment on that. What it really needs is a map showing where each command is on that huge panel 'o buttons, cos it takes me forever to find the bugger I want...

Well, it may just be on my system, but 5.1 is alot more stable than 6. 6 is awesome for mapping fighters and the like, because of the built in UVMapper, but alot of times when I select faces, it'll crash to the desktop for no reason... SO I do the modelling and stuff in 5.1, and the renders in 6. :)
-
Lightwave, the modeller is almost as easy as Lego :D
Flipside
-
Lightwave all the way, baby. :D

I know, I'm the freak here
Cinema4D ;7

I haven't seen much of C4D, but what I saw looked actually quite pleasant.
-
I'm using LW, and like it alot. But i admit, I haven't tried any other progs expect Blender.

[aristocratic voice] Ai could never sink to the level of using Anim8or or Truespace. Ai use a far more professional 3D package called 3D Studio Max. [/aristocratic voice]
[Yeah. Professional. That's just the way I'd describe you. --SarcasticDescenter]
3DS Max is cool. I tried using Rhino at one point, but the interface was horrible. Next was Anim8or, but it sucked big time. I got a dodgy demo of 3DS Max 4 from a friend, found it to be just what I needed, and went out and bought a cut-down version of it. Currently, I'm building a model of GTVD Revenant. Goal: to produce a video of one scene in my story. In particular, the bit where Revenant turns up for the first time, and atomises a Sathanas.
-
C4D is quite pleasant indeed. IMO it's pretty easy to get used to and the quality is AFAIK quite top notch.
-
TS4.2, though I use 5.1 it generaly looks better and has more features, but 4.2s interface and controles (especaly textureing, before it was just painful, not it's down right un-do-able), and some aspects of the renderer too were better in 4.2
I don't like the stile of most other 3D apps, especaly 3DS
